Has this happend to anyone else? It is hard to know because it i take 4 or 5 pills at a time with the aloe but the pills are the same i have been on for three months, the aloe is the only new thing? I was just reading all the aloe vera posts as I am doing some research before I go ahead and try it. The only thing I have read that may have caused your nausea, is that the aloe vera concentrate usually needs to be taken with citris juice. I don't know if you did that or not. That was written on the dessert harvest website. They recommend the whole leaf aloe vera capsules for IC patients because most of us can't tolerate the citric acid.

I know its been 5 months since you posted, but thought you might want to at least hear from one of us.

Hope you are doing well. :)

From what I read it is best to use the aloe vera from the ICN store.....It is specifically made for IC.....other kinds have stuff in it that wouldn't be friendly to us....I had a kind that gave me the diarihia...ICN's does not. Anyway...I know ICN's is expensive but my experience and reading tells me it is the better choice.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you feel better soon.

Aloe vera does have a slight laxative effect. I drink it daily and find it to be very soothing. Did you take the aloe straight? Also, how much did you take? I believe that they recommend only a few ounces daily. I mix mine in with a glass of water. Once I got used to the taste of the aloe, I really like the little extra zing it gives the water.

I followed the directions very carefully but it really had no taste, that is why I picked that company. my mds and allergist are stumped on this one but I am going to try the dessert harvest aloe after my nerve block, pending my Pain MD's ok. They are sending me a free sample. If i react as i did last time it will happen with in a few doses. If i can tolerate it then YAH if not oh well, just mark it off the list (like Elmiron, Elavil and Cysto-protek!)
Thanks for the thoughts though and I am glad it helps you :)

Hi there, I know for myself that I am allergic to aloe vera - I'm one of those rare people who cant tolerate it.

I did the Desert Harvest pills, took the recommended dose, had horrible nausea and the runs. Called the company and they said to break open a pill and make a paste to test on the inside of my arm.

I did that, and within minutes my arm blistered and turned red, got itchy and burned horribly. That's how I found out aloe wasnt for me.

I've also eliminated aloe in all my cosmetics/soaps/toiletries etc.

I hope you find something that works for you.
