What low acid coffee is best tolerated by IC'ers? Is there a low acid decafe? I've been drinking Postum which is grain based and since I'm starting the Atkins diet I have to give it up. I haven't tried coffee in over a year but have been doing well containing my flares, but I do want something hot to drink in the morning. Thanks, Sue

If you have a Trader Joe's near you, they carry a low acid decaf.

Puroast (http://www.puroast.com/) is a good brand.
Puroast will send you a free 2 oz. sample of decaf low acid coffee by mail. Just go to their website & request or call their number, listed on the website. I still take prelief with it & dilute it with lots of milk!

Has anyone tried the Coffee Bean low acid decaf? I don't have a Trader Joe's nearby. Sadly. But...I'll look at that link with the other brand of low acid decaf coffee. Soooo glad you all are here to help with such issues.
I need the familiar coffee taste to get me up in the morning. I've been sleeping sooo much because of my meds I think. Gone up to 30 mg of Elavil. So I want to find something to wake me up a bit. Smiles.

Yesterday I used a sample of Euromild and this am Kava acid reduced. Neither is caffeine free so we shall see. I have been drinking Postum for a year which is a grain based coffee substitute. I never thought I'd say this but I like it better than either one of the others I've tried. Since I'm now on the Atkins diet they dont allow this beverage. Oh well, IC is sure full of challenges. Thanks for all the advice and I'll be trying all of them. If I have a flare I guess it will be warm water. Sue

Have you tried Teecino? Love it! It is naturally sweet and when I taste coffee now, it tastes bitter. I have no plans to go back!
The ICN shop sells it, too.
