So Hard To Hold!!!!

I JUST STARTED MY FIRST OF 8 DMSO TREATMENTS AND IM WONDERING WHY IT IS SOOO :confused: HARD TO HOLD THE SOLUTION IN YOUR BLADDER I ONLY HELD IT IN FOR 7 MINUTES AND THAT WAS VERY PAINFUL:headbang: I SPEND THE REST OF THE HOUR ON THE TOILET:toilet:BECAUSE NOTHING WOULD COME OUT !! THEN THE VALIUM FINALLY KICKED IN AND I SLEPT FOR FOUR HOURS STRAIGHT :dizzy: ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR THE SECOND IT IS ON THURSDAY

I suggest you request something like lidocaine be instilled first, then the DMSO. That's what saves me.

awww man i'm sorry Kim, that you felt that way. I wish we could switch places and you could of had no problems at all. I had it in me for 35 minutes, for my first time. I didn't think it hurt until I used the restroom when I came home..I hurt like there was no tomorrow. I emailed you, I cant' wait to hear back from you.

I agree with Donna you should have some numing meds to help you. The first time I held it for 55 minutes and the next couple of times 120 minutes it hurt like H--- . I hope you do better the next couple of times

I had the same problem with DMSO and I contributed it to that fact that after the DMSO is instilled with the cath and everything that then you spasm and that keeps you from being able to void. The only advice I have for you is just try your best for patience when voiding if you really really get the urger "before your times up" dont feel bad for voiding at that time sometimes that is really important to do being as though otherwise you are holding the DMSO in for too long. I had a terrible time with DMSO instills!!! But they work great for others so it is different with everyone.

I'm on my fourth, and I'm holding it for about 25 minutes. It does seem like it takes great effort, but since it's helping me, I'll do what it takes!

i take mine at home and its heparin and marcaine. the marciane helps numb my bladder.
Donna is right you need to ask your doctor to give you something to numb you up so you want be in as much pain.

hope the next one is more easy on you please don't give up yet.
