I haven't had this problem but it very well may be related to the diarrhea. I hope you feel better.

I too, suffer from rectal pain. I have done now for about a year. I have seen a gyn doctor and he said it was nothing to do with that part of my body, so now I am seeing a rectal surgeon. He can't understand why I am hurting so much and I am to have an exploratory op in the near future. As I live in England, our waiting times to have things done are quite long. I will be waiting about 9 months for this test.

I think I have a rectocele. I don't have diahorrea, constipation, bleeding or anything else, just constant rectal pain.

Have you any other symptoms? If your pain doesn't go away then I would see rectal doctor if I was you.

I don't know... sometimes when my IC is flaring really badly, I get rectal pain. It's like a stabbing, throbbing sensation just inside the anal opening. According to my doctors there is nothing wrong in my rectum. They said that it could simply be referred IC pain, since when I am flaring I get seemingly random pains ... they can occur anywhere from the belly button to the mid-thigh, front and back!!

If I were you, though, I'd see another doc about the rectal pain to try and rule out anything else .

Good luck :)

I always have that after I pass something that has irritated my system. Determining what you ate that caused it may lead you to one of your IC trigger foods. Jala.

This new symptom warrants discussion with your doctor. It's never a good idea to ignore something new.
