Homeopathic meds - will it cause a flare up?

I have no idea where to post this so I may try here & another spot on the boards.

Anyway, I've been taking some different herbs & stuff for my IC & other problems such as Marshmallow Roots & something to help me sleep at night.

I often get migraines something awful & my husband bought me some homepathic meds for that.

The thing is these have so many diff. stuff in it I worry one of the ingredients could cause a flare up .

One thing he got me was - Hyland's Migraine Headache Relief

Formula:

Glonoinum 12X HPUS
Belladonna 6X HPUS
Gelsemium 6X HPUS
Nux Vomica 6X HPUS
Iris Versicolor 6X HPUS
Sanguinaria Canadensis 6X HPUS

The other was - Swanson Migraine relief -

Could you look at the ingredients in it and let me know if any of these are known to cause IC flare ups?

Have any of you taken these & found they help?

I can't help with the med question, but I can tell you what has given me the most relief from intense migraines. Have you tried chiropractic for it? I go three times a week, and my migraines have drastically reduced in number.

I absolutely agree with Jolene. Please talk with your doctor about the combination of medications you are taking. It's important to remember that over the counter remedies and herbs are medications and combining them with prescription meds can be dangerous.

I agree with what everyone is saying, some natural remedies can interfere with medication.

I see a naturopath for my IC, she speiciailzed in treating patients with IC, I was under good care. My medical doctor was (overseeing and aware) of what I was taking, and he was also someone I was seeing regularly, but only for treatments like getting bloodwork...etc...I take NO MEDICATIONS for IC, so seeing my naturopath and receiving some natural remedies for my IC worked wonders. BUt I would never mix taking meds and natural remedies withour discussing with my doctor first.

So many people go into a natural food store and pick up bottles of pills directed for certain ailments...but their ingredients can have many side effects, especially if you are taking meds. Have you tried to go and see a naturalpath, maybe this is an option?

I have an aquaintance that lives up in the mountains afew miles from me and she does Not have IC , but she does have Non-Hodgekins Lymphoma and she cannot afford a Cancer doctor (No Insurance ) , so she does have a Homeopathic doctor ( Free of charge ) and he has put her on the Homeopathic type things , and she swears By them , that they really Help her feel better.

I think that is Fantastic , and really offers hope for people that suffer with any illness.

Be sure to ask your doctor before you try these with Rx. Medications !
