Hello everybody,
I have been on Elmiron for a month now. I feel better. I have only had two flareups. One was very bad , the other mild. I am learning that I have limitations physcially. If I do too much one day, I feel like crap the next. I'm learning. I will live with this disease quite well.
I keep everyone of you in my prayers. God is still good and He is in charge. I am educating people about the disease. Noone has ever heard of it. I am goinbg to find out if there is a support group in my area. If not, I plan to start one this summer.
I am also writing to Law & Order about their incorrect reference to our disease.
My family and friends are very supportive and understanding. Phillip, my boyfriend (age50) is also supportive. He is the one who holds me when I need to cry and vent about this illness. So there is hope. I refuse to allow anything to totally take over.

Still here.
Chris

Hi Christine,

Glad you are feeling better after one month on Elmiron. You're so right...Noone knows about this desease. When I was diagnosed I had never heard of IC much less could I pronouce it.

I too am learning about limitations and think this desease can be managed. I joined a gym today and I am hoping with the IC diet, the right exercise routine, enough rest, and Prayer... I will feel "normal" agian.

Good luck with your letter - hope you get a response! Sounds like you have a great attitude and emotional support

Hi I agree with Jaimie, a positive attitude is great, and I liked her post in reference to IC, we cannot let this take over our lives, way to go, one hundred per cent in agreement, cannot let IC win, even though it tries. Take care Iris. :flower:
