I haven't been able to receive oral sex comfortably since having IC. It either hurts really bad or burns. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions for making oral sex more comfortable?:help:

I was thinking about it and they have flavored lubes that are somewhat numbing. Maybe this could help. You can usually get them from a lingerie shop like Cindie's or online. I will try it and let you know how things go!

Is it that the area of skin in your inner labia is more sensitive now or that his chin and/or stubbles bumps into the edge of your outer urethra?

One solution might be to try dental dams - square pieces of flat condom material (they come in cool colors or flavors if you want!) that he would lay over that area before doing it. This way (especially if you put a little bit of lubricant that doesn't irritate you between the dental dam and your skin) he can do it without rubbing and irritating your skin. I'd try it just to see.

Another option is to have him doing it backwards - instead of facing you, lie head to toes and have him face downwards (or sideways). This way only his nose is near your urethra and there's much less friction in the whole area (except for the important spot!:D )

Emily,
My problem is diffinetly from the increased sensitivity of the inner labia and not from stubble. No postion seems to help me.:( In fact having difficulty with oral sex was my first noticeable symptom of IC. I will try your suggestion and let you know how it works out. That is if I ever get out of this flare I have been having for the last two weeks.
