(I'm posting this for IC patient Diana Dubrow (CA) who had been an acute IC sufferer for the past six years after having a hysterectomy. She's on the phone with me right now and wanted to share her success story.)

"My bottom line is that this product, Cystoprotek, has substantially relieved my IC. I have never made a product claim ever before in my life. It was a gradual improvement that did take a full three months.. but now, in my fourth month of Cystoprotek, I am symptom free and on my way to Mexico with my husband!

Although I had tried regular Algonot and it didn't help that much ... but when I started the Cystoprotek it just felt right. I've taken their recommended dose and the improvement is from day to night. Hang in there, be consistent! I hope that you can all be as pain free as I am. If it could help anyone else, I would be so grateful."

That is really great for her! I just got my first bottle and was alittle scared to try it, this gives me the courage to go for it!

Okay, I am ignorant. What is it? Does it interfer with the Elmiron protocol?

I've just read your inspiring account of the effects of taking Cystoprotek. It's good to know that 'alternative' treatments can work. I suffer greatly from side effects with most western medicine, so am always on the lookout for something gentler, more natural. Algonot sent me a five day sample pack of this product and I had no adverse reactions upon taking the capsules so I may well dig into my pockets and go for a trial run of three months.

It is expensive for me to buy the alternative medicines, especially since I currently live in London, UK and the s&h is quite hefty. But, my health is at stake here. And I think I'm moving toward doing anything I can to reduce the pain I've been in with IC. So, thanks for the news. I'm currently on 25mg of amitrip at night and the fall-out ruins the following day - I'm so groggy and slow. Time to try something new? Dines

Hey Dines,
Ive been on the Algonot for about 3 months and seem to be doing a little better. Just like you I take the Amytriptylin 25 mg. It makes me groggy and slow as well. It does knock out the pain though. It either be in pain or sluggish. I am going to call my Doc soon and get him to get me a prescription of 10 mg tablets of Amytriptylin. Im hoping that 10 mg at night will still help me sleep well and not make me feel so groggy in the morning and thoughout the day.

No. I think you're abit confused. Cystoprotek is not an acid reducing product, like Prelief or Tamer. It is more like an antiinflammatory. You can read much more about it in the ICN Guest Lecture Transcripts by Dr. Theoharides, who is the chief scientist on the Algonot products.

Dines-

I am usually a sucker for side effects of western medicine too. Although natural products are usually costly, you are right- it is my health- so I usually go for it.

I havent tried the Cystoprotek combination, but I have read about it, and I already take some of the ingrediants!! I am so happy to hear a success story....I might have to try it.

Happy New Year to all!

I have been on Algonot Plus for about 2 weeks, switching to CystoProtek on the next bottle. Too soon to tell if it's working, I'm also on Elmiron and Aloe Vera.

I will keep everyone posted though!

I was wondering if you still are well on the cystoprotek?

Thanks!

Jill,

Would this be the cystoprorek that is also listed with Algonot 5-1 listed on line together in the same bottle. Please advice.
