Before i even say anything else i'm going to state that i'm not recomending anyone run out and try this but i am just sharing my success story here and hoping some of you have maybe had good luck with these also. I have discovered that i can tolerate Wendys Frostys in unlimited amounts. Over the past several months I've had over 20 or 30 of em and had not one flare or even a slight tingle from them. Also thought I'd mention, since the Dr.'s and I discovered my Wheat/Wheat Gluten allergy and weeded out all products containing such, my IC has been virtually dormant and no big belly either lol. Finding out about this allergy has saved me from a totally un-necessary exploratory surgery. I cannot stress enough how horrid the pain can get during an allergy attack from this ingredient. I hope this info may help someone who is also suffering from Wheat intolerence.

Pristine,
Thanks for sharing your story!! I am so glad you were able to figure out your allergies and that it has put your IC into total remission. That is so awesome!!
Thanks also for sharing that you tolerate the Frostys without any problem. I might have to try one someday soon. I am still no where near remission so I better wait a while before being so "wild"!!
:biglaugh:
Non-ICers would not get how a frosty could be considered "wild". But it sure sounds wild to me!!!

Can you drink the chocolate frosties. Those are my all time favourites. I can eat chocolate in moderation but haven't tried a frosty or milkshake. Sue

What type of doctor figured out the gluten intolerance? I am asking because there is gluten intolerance (allergy) and then there is celiac which is a very serious illnesses that you would need to know if you had it or you could end up with some serious consequences. Email me privately if you want more info.

I'm so glad to see your thread. I had the same experience. I have confirmed my wheat intolerance, but haven't done the gluten test yet. You have to eat a lot of gluten over weeks or months to get the testing done. I just don't know if I can go back to eating it knowing how bad I felt before (couldn't think, chronic fatigue, abdominal cramps, constant diarrhea/constipation, extremely bloated stomach, swollen face and eyes and then there was all the IC pain - bladder, vulvar, urethrea).

Who wants to get sick again? Not me, even for all the bagels, donuts and pizza I could eat. Enough pain can make you stick to any diet.

Jala.

My gastro Dr.'s studied me for literally years before we started wondering about the possibliity of the wheat and gluten allergy. I went through colonoscopys, barium swallows, upper endoscopys and even came close to surgery before it dawned on me what if.....Wheat/Gluten...Bingo lol. It was just something we were over looking like before i was diagnosed with IC by my Urologist. For so long things just got over looked. As for Frostys there are not but one variety of frosty and that is the chocolate-esque type. Doesn't really taste all that strong in regards to chocolate though to me but its yummy. Now i do start to get the old IC burn if i have even one Macdonalds vanilla shake. So Frostys must have different ingredients. I cant tolerate ice cream either.
