My IC is under control, freq/urgency is tolerable but my IBS is OUT OF HAND..
So far I've refused to consider the interstim but my uro said the FDA is supposed to approve the Interstim for IBS as well this winter. Has anyone else heard this?

I have not, it would not hurt to do a google search or call medtronic's. I have a friend that has ibs and the interstim, it does not help her ibs. I wish I knew more to tell you.

Thanks,
I couldn't find anything in my google search and I guess my next step would be to talk to the Rep. But he's just there to sell the device......
My primary care suggested I take Align so we are going to try that first.

I am on Align for my IBS and it helps me a big deal. Stopped it last week because I thought I was "over" IBS, and here we go again.... Started to take it again regularly today and hopeful things will go back to normal again.
However, improvement is very gradually so you hardly recognize it in the beginning and you tend to forget that this good thing is happening because of the Align. I also take Fibercon, which I found very helpful.
Good luck! GNM

ALIGN IS NOW MY NEW BEST FRIEND!!!!!!!!! So regular every single day since Monday..... Finally. BUT, Everytime I have a BM it triggers the nerves to my bladder and gives me the good ole, sensation that I have to Urinate every 10 minutes.... I ignore it as long as I can but UGH!!!!!!!! I have a URO appt. in January but I can see her sooner if I want.... I'm going to wait it out for a bit and see what happens. My only option left is the INTERSTIM which I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO DO!

I was referred to a "Specialist" for my IC for the interstim (retention) and she mentioned that it was going to be FDA approved sometime this year for IBS.
