wasn't sure where to post this..

I have had IC for over 16 years now..I have urethritis.. was diagnosed with pfd 4 years ago.. although had symptoms much much longer.. the muscles are just so so so tight, and I have to strain to P (I know makes it worse, but my p just wont come out otherwise) the only time I didn't have to strain is when I was recently pregnant.. gave birth 2 mos ago) via C section!! In 2001 I had a rectal prolapse (rectally prolapsed) repaired..

well for the last few weeks, I feel like my pfd symptoms have got so much worse; major pelvic pressure, my bladder never feeling empty.. no relief at all.. horrible clitoral pain and pressure, burning.. very very week urine flow.. I mean horrible week! well then two nights ago.. I had a horrible bought of diahrea as I was going which puts a lot of strain on the muscles, I felt a buldge out of my vagina.. I felt it and it felt weird.. looked down and saw a piece of meat.. went to my ob the next day, and he said it was my bladder and to see my urologist.. I went to my gyno cause I thought it was my uterus. I am very uncomfortable and in a lot of pain.

What I dont understand is I dont have incontinence, I have a very tight pelvic floor.. how the heck did this happen. Now I know I am not suppose to strain, and I am trying very hard but it just happens sometimes cause the muscles are so out of wack. My urologist is away till the end of the month I dont know what to do! What will he do? From what I am reading this is bad already since it produdes out of the vagina. I have had 3 children, but they were all C sections so I still dont get how tihs happened.

If I need surgery how will I care for my yhoungest only 2 mos now.. I am nursing, and hearing I cant lift.

please I need as much info as possible. I am terrified!! What will they do.. what will I do.. I am just at my whits end with all this

When I had my bladder prolapse, I could actually see it in my vagina. The symptom it caused was difficulty urinating --- and the cause --- probably straining --- in the past before I learned straining could cause problems.

I did have surgery done by my urologist (a sling). It was done vaginally and I spent one night in the hospital. I did have some weight lifting restrictions for a few weeks afterwards, but the surgery wasn't bad --- and I don't ever feel a need to strain any more. I had the surgery several years ago. I wasn't allowed to lift anything over 15 lbs. after the surgery.

Thanks donna.. mine protrudes out too.. I am wondering how long this has been there.. just still weird since I have a tight pelvic floor.. I am in so much pain I could just cry.. and I am concentrating really hard these last few days not to strain, but it is so hard cause I am having so much difficulty urinating.. did you have any other symptoms before that.. how long did you go from finding out to having the surgery? What type of sling did you get? My 2 mos old is already 12lbs and his carseat is 20.. ug.. how will I lift him after the surgery.. this is so difficult. How long were you unable to lift for?

Bea - I don't have this problem, but a very dear friend of mine is going through the process now. She will be having surgery, but in the meantime, she is taking Neurontin with HUGE HUGE HUGE success and wears a girdle, which has helped her tremendously. I can ask her what else she suggests, if you don't get answers here.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

God Bless

I had my surgery within a few weeks of when my bladder was visible. We scheduled it as quickly as we could.

It shouldn't hurt to wait a while. You really shouldn't strain in the meantime, however. I remember it was difficult for me to urinate before I had my surgery. Have you made an appointment to see your uro?

Thanks Donna.. it definitely is hard not to strain.. besides me doing it for years already.. now with the prolapse I can hardly p.. I seem to have more straining issues at night then during the day.. I am working realy hard to not strain, but sometimes towards the end my muscles do it without me even trying~~sigh~~ I called friday, and they are trying to squeeze me in the one day he is in the office monday.. he is already double booked though :( otherwise not till the end of Nov.

That is so scary! I hope they are able to get you in very soon, and that this surgery will provide you with a lot of relief.

:grouphug: You might try different positions to see if it helps you urinate. The fact that part of your bladder is lower than your urethra takes away the help that gravity offers in helping you urinate. You might talk with one of the nurses in your doctor's office and ask if there are any things you can try that could help until you can get an appointment. Don't hesitate to tell her that you are in pain --- sometimes that helps get you in sooner.
