Itching all over

Hi Ladies and Gents.................. for the last couple of months I have been itching like really bad all over my neck my face,torzo (i dont know if I spelled that right) but its getting to the point I want to rip my face off cuz its so bad? any one have this issue or can tell me what I can do?

I have taken benadrly,claratin,hydro,have bought creams that state they will calm it dow aveeno creams .

Go to a health food store and get a homeopathic remedy:
Sulphur.

It help me with a stubborn itching problem once. The dermatologist couldn't solve it. Good luck!

Ruth my percocet interacts with all my other meds. I have the same problem when that happens. Itching all over! Since I rarely take percocet, I know it is that causing some sort of interaction. Perhaps one of you meds. are fighting another. In my case Benadryl does help. You might try taking away one at a time and do your own research to find out which one is causing the problem. If that does not work, I would have a talk with your Doctor. Itching all over is a sign something is wrong. It seems you are allergic to something. So sorry you are dealing with this. Hugs, Ziggy

I hope you have seen your doctor. Have you changed shampoo? I know that I wash my hair in the shower and the shampoo does get on my face, neck, and torso. I'm sensitive to lots of soaps so I always shampoo first, then wash thoroughly with the gel I've found is safe for me. It might take a little sleuthing to find the cause --- your doctor should be able to help.

My guess is that you are having a reaction to one of your meds. The cause can be as simple as the dye in one of them You need to get a list together of what and when you are taking them and inform your doctor as to what is going on. You can also take the list to your pharmacist. They are pretty good at figuring this stuff out. Track what time you have the biggest issue with the itching and maybe it can be narrowed down. In the meantime, Oatmeal baths are fabulous for this.

I had a weird bout of horrible itching towards the beginning of the summer. I was scratching so much my skin was red and irritated. I sometimes had a few really tiny bumps (like goosebumps), but mostly my only symptom was the unbearable itching. I was on no medicine except the same BC I'd been on for 6 months at least, no changes in detergents, cleaners, bath products, etc. I got better briefly on Prednisone, only to have the itching come back after I went off of it. Finally, the itching went away on its own after 6-8 weeks of misery. Neither me nor my doctor could figure out an exact cause, other than maybe some sort of seasonal allergy. Benadryl, hydrocortisone, etc. did not help me either. All I can offer you is the reassurance that mine did eventually get better, and that I understand how awful that feeling is!!!

I am not sure if you are on prescription pain meds, but if so....when I first started taking vicodin I itched like there was no tomorrow. Now that my body is used to it, I do not itch. Right before I got IC though I would itch like crazy, and at that time I was not taking any meds. I think I became allergic to alot of food pre-ic that would cause me to itch as well when I would eat it and not realize I was allergic to it, or had become allergic to it.

Hi there! It's awful when you are itching all over like that. I have very sensitive skin - - and had a period of time - around the time my IC symptoms started where itched like crazy and broke out in hives. I ended up having to make lots of changes in my life - including changing my laundry detergent, I can't use dryer sheets (nor can anyone who uses my dryer), have certain soaps and lotions I can use, etc. I was on a prescription antihistamine along with over the counter antihistamines. I also have a prescription cream that I use. Now - for the most part the itching rash is limited to my chest (breast area) and I have a prescription steroid and anti-yeast cream. Yes - I was suprised about the anti-yeast piece. One of the doctors I saw suggested I try the steriod cream with the anti-yeast as it is quite common for yeast to grow on skin - and she said especially the breast area (wearing bras, moisture, etc). I don't have to use the prescription cream very often but when I have a flare up it works so much better than the the prescription cream that was just a steroid cream I used before. I agree with others - this could be an allergic reaction to something and possibly your meds.
