i start my accupuncture session 2morrow regarding my chronic urinary problem and i am wanting to know if any have tried this and did it help with frequency, hesitency, weak stream, etc. i too, have pfd as well. also where did they place the needles at because i know there are many areas on the body other than straight over the bladder area. thanks 4 reading..

i asked because in the past, like 3years ago i have tried this once and a hour after i got done with the session, it made my urinary problem act up more to where i wasnt able to urinate a full stream of urine, only drops of urine would come out. by the next day, it didnt get better and i went into complete retention which i ended up in the e.r. for a catheter with a pee bag. so here i go again, giving it another try.

I have only tried it twice. I just couldn't handle the cost. I found it very helpful in the area of relaxation. I had just been diagnosed and my anxieties were out of control. I would still be going if I could afford it. I am now trying a chiropractor that is a "total body" chiro. Make sure you are using a accupuncturist that is trained in working with people with IC/bladder issues. The gal I went to knew more about IC than I did!

Wishing you well on your journey.

God Bless.

Needle placement:

knees, wrists, ankles, top of the head, and just a few on the stomach.

thanks for reading and taking the time in replying back. I just got home from my first session, did alot of talking first for evaluation, then got down to business, yeah the accu-specialist put 1 needle on my forehead, 1 on top of my head, 1 on each side of my hand and i believe 2 needles near the base of my feet for 20mins, no heating lamp though. I got a couple more sessions and i know they will locate different areas with the needles, i believe i will benifit and get some type of relief for my urinary and bowels situation. I just got 2 think and stay positive..

keep us posted on how you progress. :)

I also get acupunture done...but I am curious about where the needles go? how do you know this? and exactly where do the needles go? my acupuncturist, has been focussing on my immune system so her needles placement is totally different....I would love to suggest to her other places if I know it is more beneficial!

thanks,
Peace
