Here at work, for the last 2 months we have had our fund raisers for the United Way. there was food (lots of it-both snacks and lunch type meals) and auctions. Topping it off with "candy-grams" today.
We are having a party this afternoon at the office, we decorated the atruim and we will be judging pumpkins, having a scavenger hunt, and food and drinks.
for the most part, I have noticed that we dressed up (i more or less did- i have a black t-shirt on - it with bats, and spiders. Also have a head band with a spider and web on it. Most people are really not working (probably one of the few days that we can get away with.--I have though, as I've been standing at the xerox machine all morning getting ready for a conference next week.)
Don't really plan on doing anything at home for Halloween, as we live out in the "Country" and there are very few and far between with the kids going out tomorrow, tonight I think I'm going to go to the Church with one of youngest son as they are having a bonfire and food (hamburgers/hotdogs,etc).
for tomorrow night, my eldest mentioned that I can go to his Church as they will have something for the kids there as well. i think I will probably enjoy this one more, as I know more people there (use to go to that Church when we lived in town and I still keep in contact with some of the people).
Anyway, anyone else doing anything fun?

I wish! My hubby isn't much for going out much less dressing up in costume, and I tend not to 'do' without him.
It sounds like you are having fun at work!
Like you, I'm in the country so won't have any trick or treaters here. I'll probably just stay home and watch a movie. :(

I have to work until 5:30 today. I'm a manager, so I can't go too costume crazy, but I'm wearing my usual dress pants with a nice leopard print sweater and leopard ears, plus some little rhinestone whiskers :). After that, I'll come home and get the puppy and my boyfriend and the three of us will go together to his grandmother's house to help hand out candy!

I'm going to relax, put my feet up, and watch scary movies --- will probably have popcorn. With a long, long, dark driveway, we don't get any trick or treat kids.

Happy Halloweeen everyone! I'm hoping to get some trick or treaters - yet last year there were only a few. With it being a Saturday I was hoping for more - yet we live on a dead end street. I picked up some candy today and have the McDonald's coupons to give out. I have some decorations up - not as many as usual - but enough to make it festive. I decided not to carve my pumpkin this year - cause I just plain ran out of time today. I have scary music to play and I put a decorative halloween vest on to pass out candy. I usually dress up in full costume and scare the kids, but I'm just not feeling up to the fuss. I got great deals on candy today ($1.25 a bag) and it's all name brand stuff. I always wait until Halloween day to pick up candy for this reason. The neighbors across the street are decorating their house as I type this and it appears they have scary music too. I hope I'll get to see some fun costumes.
Happy Halloween everyone!

We get a fair number of trick or treaters. A lot of families with kids have moved into our neighborhood in the past few years. A carved and lit pumpkin is a signal that people are home and have candy, so we do that. Unfortunately this year I stupidly bought one type of candy I actually like, so we had to replace the supply already! How pathetic is that? Usually I'm careful to get stuff I hate, but my husband is less selective so a certain amount of sacrifice candy needs to be included. We don't dress up. This is the first year I can ever remember that the World Series wasn't over by Oct 31, so in my house we may have a small conflict tonight. At a certain point I usually just leave the candy outside and close the door and let nature take its course. Later we take a dog-walk around the neighborhood to check out some of our more ambitious neighbors' displays. I can't wait til all the candy is gone.

I bought some candy to give out at our church's trunk or treat, but I was sick with this darn cold so didn't go (I was also going to just take it & drop it off at the church, until I realized too late that it was being held at a different church, further away... I wasn't going to end up driving 3 miles just to drop off 2 lbs of candy! (our reg church is only 1/2 mile down the road, this other one is 1 1/2 miles away)...we only had a grand total of 5 trick or treaters yesterday, so now I'm sutck with 2 lbs of candy I don't want... think I will be bundling it up into little packages to give to my nieghbors over the next couple days.
I think from now on I'm going to give out pennies or stickers or something, so I'm not stuck with left over candy!
