what helps you with bladder burn?

with my latest flare i've developed a new symptom.when i get up to go to the bathroom,as soon as i stand up i feel a heavy burning feeling in my bladder.after i go to the bathroom,it feels better in the bladder but sometimes starts to burn in urethra.

does anyone else know what i'm describing?i don't know what to do for it.i think it is a little better than it was a few days ago.

p.s. my dr.put me on bactrim ds for a suspected uti.

I think I may know what you mean. I ALWAYS feel worse after going to the
bathroom. It is mostly in my bladder and is a yucky, burny, crampy feeling.
A lot of times after 10 or minutes or so it starts to subside a bit.
I too would love to know why this is.
Another symptom of this crazy, frustrating and evil disease!!!

it's a weird feeling.the bladder burning/heavy feeling leaves my bladder after urination but then burns in my urethral area after going to the bathroom.it's not all the time.it just comes and goes.i'm in a miserable flare right now.last week i thought i was in a "mini" remission,then when it hit,it hit hard!:help:

Hi,

I could be wrong, but the burning might be caused by the bladder walls touching each other after your bladder empties. I too experience worse pain after urinating.:bonk:

Hi,

I will add that I think that anything your doing ie. diet and medication would help this symptom. My bladder has been much better over the past matter of years and this symptom has not been nearly as bothersome....

Baking soda in water always helps me with burning. I don't get burning often and never with a real UTI!

:hi:I know what you are talking about. I have bladder pain/burning before I go to the bathroom. I feel like the pain should go away after I go to the bathroom. I go but the burning/pain gets worse. I usually have bladder pain/burning all the time but urinating does cause increased pain. I'm on a lot of medications and have tried the IC diet for a long period of time. Nothing seems to help. I take Piridium (sp?) and it does seem to help a little. I wish you well and hopefully we will all start feeling better soon. --Nickie

hi,do you take pyridium everyday?i take the generic brand.i take 1 or 2 before going to bed so it can stay in my bladder longer.i don't know if it is good to take everyday though.i don't know how long it stays in my bladder as i've been getting up about every hour since this horrible flare started.:i'm tired of the potty!!!!!:toilet:

I know the feeling you're talking about. I have that too, occasionally. To me it feels like a spasm of some sort, kind of like my bladder is being ripped open. And then when I actually do go the "fire" travels on out and burns all the way. But when I'm finish going everything goes back to the normal state (normal, that's a laugh!). It almost feels good cause the burning feeling was so intense. I hope it doesn't get worse for you,.....and for me. Be well, Keith

Some people get pain from the bladder spasming upon completion of urinating. Or, like someone mentioned, the bladder collapses like a balloon when you pee and the walls touch eachother which could cause pain. But what you describe, well I'm not sure it's either of those. Maybe try aloe. It helps with so many symptoms, as does Cystoprotek. I'm singing their praises right now because they are both starting to help me so much.
