Is it possible that Trich can cause IC symptoms. A friend of mine is telling me that I should be checked out for this "just in case".

I have been checked for all other STD's and of course, they were all negative. I don't remember my doctor checking for this one. Is it something that is routinely checked for? How is this test done?

Should I even bother asking to be checked out for this. My friend has me wondering now....

You can go to your OBGYN and get the tests done just to be sure. When I started having these symptoms, that's the first place I went. They did a urine test (nothing), std tests (nothing), pelvic (nothing). But just in case, if you haven't been checked lately, go ahead and go. Peace of mind. I'm glad I went now b/c I get this ache on the right side of my pelvis that I just swear is my ovary, but I know it's just IC and goes away when my bladder settles.

The thing is that I was tested for STD's several times when all of this stuff started. My urine tests/pelvic exams and std tests revealed nothing as well. I just wasn't sure if Trich is one of the std's they routinely check for.

I just got off the phone with my PCP's office and asked them if they checked me for Trich during my last exam. I spoke with the nurse who said Trich is usually detected when they are examining you vaginally because I would have blotchy red-looking sores inside so I guess I don't have this since my doctor did a thorough examine on me. He did say I had a ton of yeast way up in there, but that was it, but I never had any symptoms of a yeast infection and when they cultured it the lab results came back as "normal microbiota". Weird.

So, I think it's safe for me to say that I don't have this.

Yep, yer safe. YAY! (I think) Trich is probably easier to cure than IC. Good job on calling. I'm a big pest to my doctors, but I don't care. I used to worry about what they would think but IC takes me to a new level of being a pest.

Yes, Trich is easily treated with antibiotics. Too bad IC doesn't have a quick fix. :(

I used to be afraid to be a pest too because I would worry about what they would think, but I don't care anymore. This is MY health and I have the right to call and bug them if I want. :lmao:
