In 2008 I had chronic yeast infections for five months...before then I had only had one yeast infection in my life and I'd been on a ton of antibiotics. I was taking Advair at the time and awhile after I went off of it I finally got the yeast infections to go away. I've read that steriods can cause yeast infections by suppressing the immune system, so I asked the nurse practitioner that I see at my family doctor's office and she said that corticosteroids don't cause vaginal yeast infections, but they can cause them in the mouth if you don't rinse out your mouth. So anyway, I was off Advair for awhile and she just put me back on it because my asthma has been bad. I've been on Advair for a week, no antibiotics, not about to start my period...nothing different but the Advair and I have another yeast infection. This is so frustrating. I know some other people on the board have asthma, has this ever happened to you?

Of course the yeast infections aggravate my IC. I took a fluconazole that my doctor gave me an RX for with refills to prevent infections again and incase I got another one. I really think the corticosteriods cause yeast infections for me...is this possible??

Are you on a corticosteroid or were you?
