I have another symptom that I wanted to check out with you. Honeslty, this site is my lifeline. I took some advice from another lady in a post and actually went out yesterday after being a hermit for a week. I took all my children out to the movies, and it was a really great day. It was hard not to buy all the popcorn and candy, but hey, life is full of choices right?
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had ever had a "cool" feeling in or around their bladder. Right now, the inside of my bladder feels cool. I am not cold, but it feels like I swallowed ice water (I didnt) and my urine is just staying a cold temperature.
Is that just weird. I have the labia tingling as well, so could it be nerves? Is my bladder maybe going to have a good day? I am hoping that maybe my flare is leaving and that is a sign, but its wishful thinking right!

Its the weirdest thing. I have lots of pins and needles between my legs, like my whole vagina and outter area fell asleep, and a cool feeling in my bladder and above my pubic bone.
The pins and needles usually go away after I pee. Such a weird feeling

What I have been experiencing for years now is that my abdonmin is cold to the touch. I can have on three layers of clothing...put my hand on my belly between the belly button and the pubic bone and it is cold to the touch. some days are worse than others, but it is almost a guarantee that I have a cold belly...No one seems to be able to explain it, but this is what I experience...maybe it will be helpful for you.

Well , I feel Cool All The Time because > I use Ice Packs on the inside of my clothes front and back to dull the ache.
It helps ALOT* :woohoo: (For ME)
I was told never use heat , it causes you to sweat , itch , and can cause swelling at the site. Not to mention turn the skin red.
Ice is better.

I use a heating pad all of the time and it helps me so much. I also buy those things that you can wear in your panties that heat up once opened and they help tremendously. I guess we are all just so different even though we all have the same ilness, and what works for one does not always and many times work for another. At night though I use hot and cold. I have to have a heating pad under my back and then I use a cold pack in between my legs. Ugh, this stupid disease can go to you know what!

AsIshallbe , does the heating pad make you Itch at all ?
Does it make you sweat at all ?
Does it turn your skin red ?
Wow , it sure does for Me. :tsk:
I have had several doc's tell me NO heat for anything , Dermatologist , Orthopedic , and Gastroenterologist.
Now the Urologist just told me the same thing > Ice is better.
It feels so good , but the ice packs melt out within 2 hours and I have to go to the freezer and replace them. Glad I bought 8 of the silly things.

My DR told me the same thing. He said that heat can cause bacteria to grow in the bladder since it thrives is warm wet conditions. I found that my symptoms are worse after I use heat....but its so nice for the time that I am using it. :)

The heating pad does not make me itch, and I put it over my clothes so it is not directly on my skin so I do not notice any redness. It does make me hotter than normal sometimes, but when I have a coolpack on top of my bladder it irritates me. At night though I have one right in between my legs, which does not irritate me.
My Dr. said there is no harm in using the heating pad. I may give the coolpacks a try though just to see if I can tolerate it.
Have I mentioned that I hate IC? ;)
Have a great rest of this day ladies. I just attempted a walk with my little girl and hubby which was very much needed. I just hope I don't flare now, but I was hurting before we left so I had to take a pain med. I just want to be able to do these sorts of things with my family. I want to feel like a good mom that can participate in my little girls life :(
