Hi everyone :hi:
Well i wasnt sure where else to go for some advice really. Ok here it is i already have 2 wonderful kiddies ages are 3 and 1.5 and we would love another one. But heres my little problem im about to get tested for ibs and i never really had much ic pain but it has been getting alot worse and i have been flaring very badly and im very worried about having a baby on my bladder for 9months and the pain  Im not sure to maybe wait another few years and hope that my ic will get better or do it before it starts getting alot worse. Any help or advice would be so lovely....

Hi Haylee,
Currently I am trying to have my first child but am having bad IC pain right now and just had a cystoscopy today. Turns out my inflammation is worse than last time so may have to put off the idea of a baby for another couple months.
I completely understand your concerns about pregnancy...
I found this link on the IC network...it's a pregnancy diary that might help us both:

If you are going to get a colonoscopy to test for IBS I would wait to get pregnant afterwards. As for your IC pain you wouldn't want to do a DMSO treatment while pregnant, but I believe just the rescue heparin instillations would be allowed. You will need to discuss that with your doctor though as I am not sure what your doctors office would allow.
I have been worried what a baby would do on my bladder also. Some of the other IC forum members have reported going into remission during pregnancy. I wish I could tell you more but I am looking for guidance about IC and pregnancy myself.

Best of luck,
Nugget

Hi Nugget Thanks heaps for the reply. Both of my first 2 kiddies my bladder was fine but i am now experiencing very bad pain which i have never felt before so im thinking that it might get worse in another pregnancy with the pressure babies cause on the bladder. But yes i will be waiting until they say yes or no on ibs as well though. Hubby wants to wait another year or so but i just dont think my body is going to handle it later on.

Have you ever had a cystoscopy? They hydrodistention helps ease my inflammation and pain. Initially, like today, the pain will be worse but last time it got rid of that horrid pressure I felt from my urethra.
You might want to talk to your Urologist about it...its a pretty quick procedure. Once the IBS question is answered and if you can get your bladder pain under control I don't see any reason why you couldn't consider getting pregnant.

Hi Nugget Yeah ive had a few hydrodistentions and the last one is the reason caused me way to much pain and they have never helped me what so ever :( I have tried elmiron and endep with no luck. The only treatment that has worked for me i can no longer get as only 2 docs in australia will do it and they are on the other side of australia :(
I think my main problem is trying to tell hubby when i think my body is ready really as his not overly easy to explain my ic to. But i see a another uro tomorrow so im hoping that will work out.
