Hi guys...Im in a flare the past 2 days..not sleeping right and in lots of stress so it causes more pain. My cramps are so bad and my low back cramps too, but am getting soo many spasms like lightening shooting out from inside me, stop sme in my tracks. I had a hysterectomy, but feels like my period is about to burst through any time now. Have only darvocet for pain and that doesnt help...I am thinking of going to ER. I know its not from infection...i Know its the sleep Im NOT getting and stress too.
Just wanna know how many others get the flares with the horrible spasms.
Thanks.
Christine:)

Aww Christine...I'm so sorry:cat: I hope for all the warm fuzzies to come and take away your pain. I hope you read my other post to you in the other one your wrote.
If you go to ER, take an article on IC with YOU...many of the ER docs don't understand IC and won't give you pain relief. YOu'll wait forever on an uncomfortable chair in the waiting room, only to feel like a total dork as they shrug their shoulders. (then you run the risk of being labeled a "drug seeker" in your hospital file...)
I have a packet of info I put together just in case I absolutely have to go in. It includes a report/diagnosis from my uro, and info on meds I'm on, as well as phone numbers they can call. (as well as an article from the Journal of Medicine written in doctor language that expressly states IC patients can experience tremendous pain and need to be treated as such.)
Anyway...good luck to you.
Tracey:thumbsup:

I take Hyoscyamine for spasms. It is a muscle relaxer that only targets the abdominal area. I would also get some of the Theracare menstrual heat pads. They're GRRRRRRReat!

I also take hyoscyamine for spasms. It does take up to several days to become effective, but they do work well for me.
Sending warm healing thoughts,
Donna

I have the same type of spasms. And they have dropped me to my knees.........in the middle of there grocrey store. Sure get some funny looks :D thankfully my Mom was with me and a great help. I use heating pad and Phoenobarbital (which is the same thing as what the other ladies have mentioned (hyoscyamine).
TRACEY....Thanks for your post I will put an information packet together like that, I am sure it is a huge help if you have to go to ER. Thanks again.

I've been having spasms, I've assumed they are intestinal. Hmm?
