Has anyone had any success with this medication? Pyridium is no longer available in Canada and my husband did some research and found this medication and I am going to ask my doctor about it tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone has taken it. Thanks!

I found this drug on line and asked my family doctor to prescribe it. He said
since IC patients don't usually respond well to any meds for over active bladders that this probably wouldn't work. But he was willing to let me give it a try. I notice it
relieved my symptoms a bit but have only been on it for two days. How's it been going for you?

Hi there,

I did try to get this medication and my pharmacy told me they aren't making it anymore. I was going to try it for pain control because I can't find anything that works! Why do they keep taking these drugs off the market?

I just had my prescription refilled just fine but I hope supplies
don't run out due to them not making the product any more.
I really like it and feel that it has really helped. Good luck to you :)
My heart goes out to you.

Urispas was what helped me after my cystoscopy and stuff. I was getting the bladder spasms where as soon as you'd start to "go" it would spasm closed and hurt really bad. Take 20 minutes to pee, and have to pee constantly kind of thing. Also seems to help the hot/heavy egg in abdomen sensation. Since then, it's really helped me during regular flares. I really think it makes a HUGE difference for me!

I told my gp that I had read that Pyridium is no longer avaiable in canada he had not heard that he looked it up and said it has not been removed from his list.

I didn't get an rx for it, I find it is too strong for me it causes me retention. When I can I buy it otc in the states each pill is only about 90 mg, rx pills are 200 mg and are not supposed to be broken in half.

I asked about the pills that turn the pee blue, he had not heard of these he did not think they were avaiable in Canada, but said if I get the names of them he would write a scritp for them so that the next time I am in the states I can fill it to try it.
