It has been a long time since I've posted a question-- which has been mostly a good thing. My IC is relatively under control. But, every now and then something comes up where I feel I have to turn to other ICers for their experience...

Today is one such day. It has been 35 days since the start of my last period. I don't track my periods religiously, but I know that I'm at least 3 days past the longest I know I've gone between periods before. I've been nauseous for two weeks, (threw up twice today-- lovely I know), I had a massive migraine out of the blue at the start of the nausea two weeks ago, my vaginal discharge has increased, and I have mild pain in my lower pelvis... not cramping pain, just a mild pain that COULD be related to IC but I haven't had it before. Again, this is not my PMS feelings, never had this before. Finally, I'm really tired. All this combined with a few recent unprotected encounters with DH implies to me that I'm really possibly pregnant...

Thing is, I've taken two tests (the second with the 'first pee' this morning) and both have been Neg. What I'm wondering is, is it still possible I'm pregnant? With IC, I pee REALLY frequently as the norm and I'm not convinced my urine sits in the bladder long enough to have enough HCG to show up... Does this make sense? I've been considering going into the Dr.'s for a blood test but I'm wondering if it is still too soon to bother. Should I wait a few more days?

A baby would be a blessing, but we weren't TTC before this... I'm mostly going crazy waiting for Aunt Flo to arrive, or for a positive pregnancy test!! Ahhh, the waiting!

What do you think, any of you ladies had negative pregnancy tests but been pregnant? Is 3 days late too soon to ask this question? Your thoughts please!

Many thanks!

I'd go ahead and call your Dr. Tell him what you have told us and ask him if you think it's to early for a blood test. That should give you a much more reliable answer. From all your symptoms though you would think you are preggo.

Congrats on being able to keep your IC symptoms under control!

Nugget,

Thank you for responding! I got the results from the blood test yesterday and it was a big fat negative.... and today, after a cycle of well over 40 days, AF finally arrived. sigh. So that is that.

The thing is, the stress of the wait over the last few weeks was enough that now my hubby and I do want to start TTC... :) Hopefully weird pregnancy symptoms won't get in the way of a real pregnancy soon!

Take care and good luck with your IC. I've had this for over 5 years, and frankly it's not that I keep it all under control so much as I've gotten used to it all. I am now more or less usually able to manage the pain. I think there just comes a point were you're not 100% or "better" or anything, it's just you know how to manage and get on with other parts of your life. At least, that's the point I'm at currently... So, next chapter is maybe a baby? ;)
