I have a really strange question to ask , so please for give this silly question ?:loco:

How many rolls of Toilet paper do you ladies go thru in One 24 hour Day ?

I go thru 3 atleast , and sometimes 4 rolls , since I have to go all the time.:toilet:

Is this too much tissue to go thru in a day , or is it normal to go thru this many ?::bonk:

I don't go through alot, as pain is my main symptom, not frequency. 3 or 4 rolls sounds like alot, maybe you should look for the double and triple rolls, instead of single. Also stay away from dyes and patterns in the TP. I guess for a typical trip to the oile, I use about 10 sheets.

I use the 2 ply , No color or dye. No strange designs on it. Just plain T.P.

I use about 10 sheets as well.:toilet:

But I go so much , I can wipe , then go more , wipe , and still go more.

That is why I go thru atleast 3 rolls daily. 4 rolls if my IBS diarrhea acts up that day.

I did not think to count.
I do have a septic system so I am getting a little worried about just how much it can handle with all my extra "visits". I try to flush only every 3rd trip (if I am home alone) and I was thinking about getting one of those baby diaper disposals so I can put the TP in there.
Sheesh - once that bladder goes, all filters are gone and no topic is sacred.

I have a septic tank too.

Toilet Paper disolves in the muck and goo in there. :woohoo:

One thing to help your septic tank , use ONLY Liquid dish dert and Laundry soap.

The powder Gumb's it up , the Septic trank drainers told me. :tsk:
Makes it hard to suck the goobers thru the hose. :toilet:

TP disolves in it.

I go through about one double roll in 24 hours. I don't count the sheets either. I use what I feel is a sufficient amount to keep my hand from getting wet when wiping.

Hi there! Interesting question... I think I go through about 4 or 5 rolls of triple roll Scott extra soft in a week. I usually use that or Angel Soft. I have to be careful not to use those really soft toilet papers like charmin cause it sticks to me and it's not good.

Wow , now I feel like I am over doing it. :bonk:

But if I don't keep wiping , I feel like I am dripping all over the place.

Plus my frequent IBS diarrhea makes me use alot too. :tsk:

I sure hate all of this.

Will do. Thanks for the tips.
The previous home owners put the Lysol wipes down the toilet. We found that out with our first service. We had to pay by the gallon too. :cussing:- previous owners.

My family used to give me a hard time for using so much toilet paper when I was a kid. They felt bad when I finally got diagnosed when I was 21, lol. My bf and I probably go through 12-18 double rolls in three or four weeks. I work 40 hours a week outside the home, so that helps on our personal toilet paper bill :)

I just wanted to add that I work full-time and have a fairly long commute to work - which means I'm often out of the house for about 10 to 12 hours - often gone more than I'm home - so that definitely effects how much toilet paper I go through. It sure gets expensive.

Wow , it is manditory that when you sell your home , you must have a dry septic tank for the new owners. :tsk:

The tank has to be empty ! :toilet:

If the previous owners didn't do that , you could have billed them for it.
Specially if the tank had debris in it that wasn't disovable.

That is why the septic drainers told me , never use powdered dert.
Dish washer or washing machine. Must use Liquid only.

I only use about four squares, fold to about two inches wide and blot. We go through about two to three rolls in a week.

That's a lot of paper for a sceptic system. Yes it dissolves, but only so much. I would consider using RV toilet paper, available at Walmart. It breaks down a lot better. Also less chemicals in it. Even better is to hang a shopping bag by the toilet and collect them and throw them out. This is what I do on boats where toilets have pumps that can clog....

Find out how your septic system is designed. Old systems, of which there are few left, have just a collection tank that collects and has to be pumped out regularly. Most systems consist of a holding tank where the house empties in to, average home about 1000 gallons, which is about 2-3 days worth, less for frequent flushers. In there the solids sink to the bottom, and for the most part decompose. Once every 2-4 years, depending on use the non dissolving solids are pumped out. The relatively clean effluent stays at the top of the tank and goes out the other end to a leech field where it dissipates into layers of gravel/sand. This would be under your lawn where you never suspect it. In areas with marginal soil they install mounds. Big grassy humps in the back yard.

The toilet paper, if too much, can collect on the surface and either block the exit (backed up toilets in the house) or go into the pipes into the leechfield and booger it up (Backhoes $$$$$$$)

Food for thought.

Well I guess I must be using way too much then. Yikes*

But if I don't use that much , I will be changing my underware really quick.

I have been putting the wet paper into a trash can by my potty. Since I go thru so much per setting , I don't want to plug it with excess tissue trying to go down.

Good move. Hope you feel better.

It sounds like you might be still "dribbling" a little when you feel like you are finished. You might try standing up part way, then sitting back down to be sure you aren't. That should cut down on the need for so much tissue. Or just plan stay sitting for a minute or two before standing up.

I never seem to leak untill I try to walk away.

Guess I better sit there longer.

My husband is amazed at the amount of TP I go thru.
He said I should buy it by the box , not bag.

Another strange thing I notice , I will feel completely empty , wipe and that seems to activate more flow , and then I feel empty again , till I wipe and more comes.

I guess I just don't understand this at all. (Yet) I'm sure i'll learn really quick from all the great folks and advice on our IC Board.

Glendas, are you straining to try to get out that last little bit? If you are, please stop. Straining will only make it worse.

Isn't it nice to have a place to be ok asking the embarrassing questions?
I'd say that I/we (just my spouse and I) use a roll in two days. I go, stand up, wait about 5-10 seconds then sit down and dribble a bit more(repeat as needed). I only flush about every third time. TP, pads, panti liners all make me sore as they leave little bits of fiber residue that HURTS, so the advice of don't wipe, blot is a good one.
If the above are a big irritant to you, you might try what I do.
First: I highly, highly recommend getting a good quality hand held shower head installed. To me this is very very helpful and I don't know how I survived before we got one. After you go and are finished with the second or third stand up sit down drip a little more, blot with a little tp, then bottoms off, step into the shower and use the hand held shower in the pubic area. It feels good on the tummy too! You can have the water nice and warm.
Then if you are up to it and it works for you, buy flannel sheets you cut up and/or white cotton paint rags and wash n dry them and have a place for them in the bathroom to use to blot dryafter the mini shower. In general you can use these in addition to or in place of tp and have a diaper pail to put them in after.
I find I rarely get as sore anymore and use much less TP.
OK,Another perhaps bizarre idea that worked came from my young adult daughter. How are you supposed to walk, hike, exercise, when it all rubs, rubs, rubs raw the area ?; panti-liners, pads hurt but your dr. insists you must be walking/exercising?
My daughter suggested that when I walk I wear a pair of thong underwear under my regular underwear (white if possible) I'm not that young and the idea of picturing myself in a thong was not well....a thong DID and does work for me so I can walk my dog a bit more comfortably now. When you return home take it off and toss it in the laundry. The above ideas might also be of help to those with septic systems.

It sounds like a bidet might be a very efficient way to bring you some comfort.... If you have the room and the money for installation, or the plumbing savvy better half, they are no harder to install than a sink. Our house came with one and I have used in in the past when overdoing the spices. Of course that's no longer an issue now. All drains go to the same place, so in extreme cases I see nothing wrong with using it for urinating while enjoying some soothing water of a temperature to your liking.

No , I really don't strain all that much.

When I feel like I am empty , I usually just wipe , and get up.

But wiping tends to create more out put flow. That's odd .

What angers me is after I get up and pull my jeans up and start to walk away , I will get a spurt.

Then I have to go change. Very frustratiing.

Glenda2

Oscar , I forgot to mention in my above post , My husband would think I was crazy if I had a Bidet put in. :loco:

We would have to have the plumbing re-routed for a warm water flow out put.

I can't afford to do this.

But a great suggestion , thankyou*

Your husband should be happy to make anything happen that will bring you comfort. (You can tell him I said so....:lmao:)

It is also possible to tap into a nearby sink and put a small handheld shower head next to the toilet. Would not cost much at all.

I'd love a bidet, alas, no room and no money to a big bathroom remodel. I'll stick with the hand held shower. I've designed houses with bidets and thought they were ostentatious, but I've changed my mind. It would be helpful to have one

I really don't think to count as I don't go awhole lot. Plus the fact that I work full time.
I regards to spetic tanks,I too have a septic tank, I bought a diaper disposal thing and put all the toilet paper in it, as I was told by a friend even if the septic is tp friendly, it will clog up eventually. I know the other bathroom, they just throw it down the toilet...
