Elmiron, Gelnique and Urine Smell

Hello, I was officially diagnosed with IC yesterday. I had a cysto/hydro on Monday and started Elmiron yesterday. The doc also has me on Gelnique, but I'm stopping that and starting imipramine (10mg 3x a day). I notice that Gelnique does leave my hand smelling kind of weird (even after I wash it) and I'm wondering if that or Elmiron is causing my urine to smell. It's not an unpleasant smell. The nurse at the doctor's office (who is totally tired of me calling) said to drink more water. Anybody know anything?

Okay, so (ha,ha). I just drank a big cup of water and the odor is gone. So, occasionally the doctor is right. Just keep on drinking water!

Before I had read your ending note about drinking the extra water, I thought that what my question was, was pretty much the same as yours.
My urine is bright yellow and has a strong odor about it, not unpleasant but just strong. I drink lots of water everday, ( so far today it has been 3 water bottles and a Hint water :D ) and those times I forget to takee my Elmiron, the urine and colour go away.

Just an observation (: Lol.
