ic/endo and fertility

I have IC, endo and adhesions ( endo and adhesions removed once). I am blessed to have one daughter who i concieved a few weeks after stopping BC pill (unplanned preg) but nontheless i worry for my future fertility, as i wasn't yet diagnosed with IC or endo when i got pregnant w/ my daughter.

For those with IC and or endo, was your fertility affected and if so how bad? how long to go pregnant and did you concieve naturally?

Did pregnancy worsen or lessen symptoms?

after birth /breastfeeding did pain worsen or stay same?

I am planning on having more children someday but I worry i wont be able to, so i would like to hear how IC or endo affected other womens fertility

The main thing I would suggest to you is to keep up with the endo and don't let it get out of control. I had fertility problems due to my endo. However, I didn't know I had it until it was too late and had progressed really far. I didn't have IC until after I had a hysterectomy for the endo. I think the hysto caused it. The endo pain will be better if not there during pregnancy.

You are way ahead since you know you have endo. Just keep ahead of it!

I don't think the IC is as much a problem as the endo. My daughter has had two surgeries for endometriosis now and is doing fertility treatments. It has been hard for them, but they are going to the best doctor in the area.

Have you found a board that deals strictly with endometriosis? I bet you can do a doc check if you find something like that out there. Not all gyns are alike any more than uros are alike.

My doc is an endo specialist in San Jose, CA. I flew to him from Arkansas (where I lived at the time) for surgery. I would do it again in a minute if I needed too! I can give you his info if you are interested. He also has a website that is a wealth of info on endo. he is an amazing man!
