I did not know where to post this question so decided to come here. Does anyone know of any good resources for chronic pain issues? i know there are many of us just hanging on trying to find a solution to this illness...any help appreciated.....
I found the book, "A Delicate Balance" by Susan Milstrey Wells to be very helpful. I especially liked the sections in the book on how to talk with family & colleagues who do not understand your illness and how to deal with the issue of "looking okay" (even when you feel crummy).
I also have been listening to a book cassette by Bernie Siegel "How to be an Exceptional Patient" (it's one of his later works, which focuses on how to live well in spite of / with illness & clears up somewhat the earlier criticism of his work that he was focusing on unusual remissions). Even though his work is mostly with cancer patients, I still find what he says about living meaningfully to be very positive and affirming.
