So I met a new guy absolutley amazing and well aware of what Im going through...here is my prob tomorrow he invited me to the state fair thats after church and lunch but Im so scared to go because I think of everything that could happen as I have so many symptoms.... Im concerned about getting stuck in traffic and having to pee, and needing to pee but cant find a bathroom while we are there, being depressed because I cant eat any of the yummy state fair food, and also just walking that much may bring pain. What should I do any tips? He insists I go and just try to have a good time and he will be supportive if anythings happen but Im still really nervous about going...

Hopefully you can find a "map" of your state fair on the internet. If not, they should have some at the gate --- you can then locate the restrooms. It sounds like you've found a very nice guy. I hope you have a wonderful time.

Most fairs have such things as corn on the cob, broiled chicken, hamburgers (I order mine with no condiments), cotton candy (which is just spun sugar), and ice cream.

Hugs,
Donna

If you are comfortable with it, check and see if they have wheelchairs for use. I have found that many places do, at first I refused to use one. Now I will use them if I need to. Sometimes it is the only way I can enjoy going somewhere. Using a wheelchair is the ONLY way I can go to IKEA and I will not let anything stop me from visiting my favorite store!!! Ha ha.

Sounds like he is very undertanding, don't put pressure on yourself, enjoy what you can. Rest when you need to. I know our fair has benches everywhere!

Have fun

I had a great time at the county fair this summer. For food, I'm very diet sensitive, but I found an ENORMOUS hamburger & a soft serve vanilla ice cream cone later. I was quite content. It's great that you're going with someone who understands & will take it at your pace. Take pictures! That helps take your mind off being self conscious, which helps the bladder a little bit too:)
Have fun!

I had a similar problem. I have been taking my son to the state fair since he was born fifteen years ago. This year I had just been diagnosed and felt like ___________. He begged me to go, so I decided that my husband and I would drive separate cars in the event I had to leave. I wore my 12 hr heat patches and my tens unit and took my trusty water in cooler. I did not eat anything at the fair - just didn't seem worth it. I made it from 9-3 and the guys stayed until 9pm, so everyone had fun. There are so many distractions and at our fair, there are plenty of restrooms - that I think you will be fine and this guy seems to be special, so I am sure if you are honest with him, he will be understanding.

Wishing you well. Let us know how it goes!
