Boils

This is such a personal question, but I have no one else to ask. Do any of you with IC get boils on or near your biki line? I get them all the time and they won't go away and i wonder if they appear because my body is so off balance down there.

I had one boil that kept coming and going and I got the point i had to get it removed. And lately they have been getting worse.

Yes i wear cotton under wear, yes i wear boy cut under wear, yes i dry with a hair dryer after showers, etc etc etc.

I was just curious to know if anyone else with IC gets these darn things.

Personal questions are acceptable here. We all have them. To answer your question. I have never read or heard about this problem. What does your Doctor think? If you haven't told him/her that this is a major problem for you I think you need to. Perhaps a full blood work-up might find something. So sorry! It sound most terrible. Hug, Ziggy

When I was a teen-ager I had a series of boils, but they were all on my back, and they finally just stopped happening.

I had two or three right on my panty line when I was 16, 17--they just showed up as lumps about 1" long and when squeezed really hard they'd have a discharge. Luckily it cleared up for me . . . The only thing I can think of that I started doing differently was shaving everything "down there." Good luck!

I had one that was so bad they had to remove it. My doctor told me to take ZINK and it helped. I still get them from time to time. I feel your pain. You may want to shave in that area. It could help.

humm I had them when I was a kid from sitting in the sand and then later at my bikini area from shaving, but not too many. they are irritating. Since being diagnosed with IC, the stress of it has seriously screwed up my hormones, I used too have clear skin but now my face is riddled with acne and at one point I had really bad back acne too. But I am slowly recovering from that too. I don't have the back acne anymore but I still have bad face acne, it feels like backward puberty since I had clear skin as a teenager. I don't think it is a direct relation to IC but it could be caused from the stress of IC, it could well be hormonal. Go to you Primary and have your hormones tested.

I have gotten the boils in that area for many, many years. I have had to have several lanced over the years (not fun) but many go away by themselves or if really bad sometimes an antibiotic will help. The explanation from my doctor was that some women were just prone to them and no matter what they do they will get them. Warm compresses will help bring to a head sometimes and warm baths help as well. I do completely shave the private area and have for many, many years which can also cause ingrown hairs.
