Got the mild curry sauce. Just add carrots, potatoes and put over white rice. Now I have massive acid reflux. :( Anyone can tolerate curry?

I always thought of myself as a person with an iron stomach. Clearly I don't have an iron bladder. I didn't get IC until I was 59. I used to eat just about anything, including very hot chile peppers. That said (and long before I got IC) the one type of food that my digestive system always found hard to tolerate is Indian food. Don't know if it's the curry spices in particular, but it's something. Eating Indian food in a restaurant never worked out well for me.
I can use a small amount of curry powder at home, and can make a mild curry using coconut milk, and I can still eat mild viet or thai curry as long as it doesn't have tomato in it.

I LOVE Indian food but my bladder doesn't like it and I get massive heartburn. I miss it :(

I sometimes throw curry powder on my chicken and fish and I seem to tolerate it well. Supposedly curry powder even has anti-inflammatory properties. Of course for an IC patient this may backfire due to the spicyness. I'd imagine that curry powder in general is in the "use caution" category unless you are sure you individually can tolerate it.

My two favorite types of food used to be Indian and Thai food. I can no longer handle any Indian food, two of my friends are from India and have told me that most Indian dishes have lemon or lime juice in them for flavoring, as well as tomatoes, or tomato powder. So other than just the spices there are other things in the food that are not as obvious that might be causing problems.
Thai food on the other hand I am still able to tolerate on a smaller scale and less spicy. I usually get the Pa Nang curry at my usual Thai place and as long as I drink a lot of water and am feeling well previously I only get a very minimal rise in pain (maybe to a 1 or 2, for a few hours) but it is worth it for me because I love it so much. Down here at my school the Yellow Curry dish I get at the thai resterant hasn't caused me any flare ups at all.

Have you tried it with Prelief? I take two before every meal or snack.

I just put some shrimp curry in the oven for dinner tonight. I use just a small amount of mild curry powder --- just enough to give it a little flavor.

Yes, I used to love love spicy food. So far I can have garlic and I use Cumin--that's a bit spicy and a little similar to Curry. I haven't tried curry yet--maybe in a few months.

curry doesn't really bother me if I drink milk with it, but I think I'm the only one this works for.
