I was diagnosed with I.C. two years ago after my laposcopy procedure for my endometriosis did not take away all of my pelvic pain. I have been getting DSMO for a year and that did not really help. I've been on Elmiron, Detrol LA, and antidepressants and still am in pain. I just got my first hydro. I was hesitant to get it before cause my doctor says it's just a quick fix and will probably not take away my pain for longer then 6 months. She also said if i do it more then once there’s a change in bladder damage. Well, I took the chance, b/c at this point I’m willing to do anything to cure my disorder or at least calm the pain. I have been forcing myself to void and when I do I have been passing air through my Urethra. Is this normal? Do you think my bladder wall was ripped? I just got the Hydro 6 days ago. Please help me, I'm only 23 and don't want to deal with this anymore

Hi and :welcome:
I'm sorry you've been through so much.
My advice would be to call your doctor as soon as you can if you are having trouble urinating.
Also, air coming from the urethra isn't normal--- although I've had it happen when they've cathed me for DMSO instills, and there happened to be an air bubble in the DMSO solution that passed into my bladder through the cath. Later, when I voided the DMSO solution, out went the air bubble! However, since yours was 6 days ago, this is probably not the case for you and you should get checked out.
Sending hugs,

thank you for your reply. I've had the air pass through with the dsmo as well, but this is more then a little air plus it hurts. I phoned my doctors office this morning and still have not heard a reply. I hope they didn't rip me!!!

Oh sweetie...I am so sorry you are going through this. Please don't panic. If you don't hear back from your doctor soon, call again. Let them know you are extremely worried and need to see the doctor...ASAP :kissing:
I've never heard of air coming from the urethra. Call your doctor back!
