As a newbie, the have read all the information recently posted and found it very useful.

I am confused about one thing...

I have read on varies sites that it is recommended that you get a MEDICAL ID bracelet to not only list meds you are taking but also to state the requirement of needing a restroom immediately. Is this necessary? Can it be useful? Does anyone have one for IC?

Thanks for your help.

Many of us carry cards in case we need them. I wear a Medic Alert bracelet, but it's because I have some medication allergies and am also diabetic. The cards are available in the ICN Shop.

Okay, being a total newbie here and learning as much as I can about this horrible diagnosis, exactly what does a medical ID card for restroom use do or rather how does it work? Thanks! :)

It's just something that explains a little bit about our condition so you can show it at places that don't have a public restroom, or when there's a long line, so people will hopefully understand and give you access to the bathroom.

I could have used one of those last week. I was a on a plane last week and the line was long. I thought I was going to burst. I started to freak out about it because I had to go really bad. Lucky for me my husband was with me to calm me down. I think I will get a card and I need a bracelet because of bee stings and I have bad reactions to some meds.

Oh, okay that is good to know that we can get something like this. I wear a medic alert bracelet too due to being a severe diabetic. So something like this could be very useful!

With being VERY overwhelmed by from being a "newbie", I do not remember where I saw the two articles about IC patients obtaining Medical Alert ID bracelets for bathroom use if needed. I wish I could posted the link to get more important from people who have one?!?!?

One article felt that the restroom card along with a Medical Alert ID bracelet works better.

Has anyone had problems with the Restroom ID card and thinks the Medical Alert ID bracelet as well???

Thanks for any help you and time. :)

I have a Medic Alert bracelet, but it says nothing about restroom access --- the restroom cards work very well for that.
