I was looking on recipezaar.com (spend WAAAY too much time there!) I found this recipe. I don't like onions so I won't be trying it but if you like onions and you're okay with them, maybe you could try it. I know how we all miss our sauces so I thought I'd post this here! Many of the commenters on the site said it went really well with roasted pork. (I can't comment on that because I don't eat meat! haha) I think it's a bit of a weird combination but that sweet and savory thing is good sometimes!
Anywaaaaaay:
Ingredients
1 large onion, chopped
1 kg frozen blueberries
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
Directions
1. Mix the onion and blueberries in a large saucepan over medium heat until it comes to a boil.
2. Add butter and sugar.
3. Let it simmer while stirring occasionally for at least a half hour, or until the entire mixture is soft and well blended.
4. OPTIONAL: add more butter to taste.
5. Serve it HOT with a pork/beef/bison roast that's thinly sliced.
6. Freeze the leftovers because you'll have enough left to have this tasty sauce for a few more meals.
