I was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to help answer a few questions for me. I was wondering if there is a connection between my IC and my period? I seem to get horrible pains before and during that time. Also is there any medicine specifically for that type of pain? The other night I was in so much pain I couldn't move. I'm already on emiral, amitripaline, and hycosimine. I would greatly appriciate any help or advice anyone could give me. I've been sick since a child but just diagnosed this Dec. 2003. Thanks

It seems to me that a lot of women have more pain during that time of the month. I no long have my period but when that was before the surgery. I had a lot of pain but thought it was just the prolapsed bladder. But I didn't know I had IC back then. It was all the mess...prolapse, IC etc,ect.
I hope som one can answer this for you...everyone is different with IC.

I can tell you my symptoms get worse around my period. I am not sure what the connection is or if there is one but it definately happens to me. My uro and OBgyn have said its more than likely connected to my IC since nothing else could be found. I would let your doctor know your symptoms . I keep a diary I write down everything every day so I can let my doctors know. Hope you can get some relief soon . I use my heating pad its helps and the heating patches.Take care
