i had a cysto with hydro done as an out patient on March 17th. After having it done my Dr. said he didn't think I had IC from looking at my bladder. However when I saw him the following week for a recheck I told him how much better I was feeling since I had it done. No more feeling like I had to pee all the time, my urethra was not hurting any more after I peed. So he then said that it was very possible I could be in the early stages of IC since the cysto with hydro seemed to work.

This past month has been just great, I really got a feel for what it was not to even think about my bladder, or peeing every hour. I was going about 14 times during the day.

So, now a month later and in this past week and a half my bladder feels funny again, my urethra is starting to feel uncomfortable after I go and I feel like I need to go more.

What could this mean? I really don't think I want to know....
I have an appt. with my uro on Tuesday morning.
Is this common for IC to come back so fast after a cysto with hydro? I was hoping for a few more months before it was going to come back, if it was.

well, based on my returning symptoms, my Dr. said yes, he believes I do have IC. He is starting me on Elmiron and Atarax. I guess I will go upstairs now............

Please know that getting that diagnosis doesn't mean life is over. MANY people with IC do go on to find treatments that help them live fairly normal lives. It takes some time, but most of us do get there.

Most of the people who feel good do not post here b/c they don't need the support. Remember that, OK?

Hang in there. Now you can get on the road to feeling better. :kissing:

I'm so sorry. I hope you begin to feel better.

One of the worst things about talking with people online is you cannot hear the voice inflections of the people you talk with. I picked up that you are really upset. I want to tell you that, with the help of good doctors and treatments, there are a lot of us here who live pretty normal lives in spite of IC. Even though your pain seems to have returned, that does not mean that it will always be there. There are days when I forget I have IC. Then there are days when I have flares. Over time, I have learned how to deal with the flares and celebrate the days that I feel good. I hope the same for you...:kissing:

Hi, and I totally agree with Sharon, there are good days and not so good days with flares, but eventually it does get to where life is somewhat normal again. I know it is an up and down course with IC, so we all know how you are feeling. Hang in there, and let us know how you are doing, hugs Iris. :hi: :grouphug: :flower:
