i have ibs/c and have lower right side pain.i've had tests done and all is fine.it is usually in the lower right side but can move as high as my waist.it hurts to push on it at first but feels like the pain moves, and no longer hurts in that same spot.i think i've developed food allergies(why at 43,i don't know)but if i eat anything with apples in it,i'll get this pain.this pain may stick around a month or more.if it's gas pains, why doesn't it go away?why would it take a month to leave?this all started in 2003.i never had it again until last year.have had it on and off ever since.it actually feels better when i lay down.i'd just like to know if anyone else has ever heard of this?or what to do for it?

Are you my long, lost twin???? You are describing me. I thought for a year that my right ovary was the culprit, but in July of this year after playing with some kidney stones, I was diagnosed with IC. I have been in the hospital three times for pain - thought it was my gallbladder, appendix, etc. I can tell you with IBS, I can't have apples or anything with a peel. Just about the only fruit I can have is pears. I have an IBS and and IC sheet that I have to work with and it is a Godsend. You must stick to the diet.
How to deal with pain: I have had 4 DMSO installations which made me worse and 2 Marcaine that helped tremendously until I reacted badly to the second one. Seems they contain preservatives. I have also started Cystoprek two weeks ago - now with IBS, you have to be careful. They can upset your tummy, so I put the whole container in the freezer. Right in the middle of the meal, take one. Freezing it allows it to release slowly. I am up to two a day and it seems to be doing something. It is supposed to coat the bladder. Next, I started on DH Aloe Vera. They have removed the ingredient that bothers those of us with IBS and I have no trouble with them at all. I am up to two of those a day and they help with inflammation. I have noticed that when my IC is flaring, there goes the IBS. I also have a Tens unit that I put the pads directly on that spot and it helps beyond belief. I also found these 12 hr heating pads that you place over your undies. They are called BodiHeat. I find them at CVS in pack of three, but you can order them online. They really do last 12-14 hrs. You can't put them directly on your skin, but they are extremely flat, and you won't even notice them there. I wear them at night, when I am flaring in that spot. I have also noticed that when I get my period, that area gets mad, so I prepare myself. I also drink nothing but water.
Feel free to PM me anytime. I hope this helps you some. I thought I was the only one and I have had every test known to man and after awhile the doctor's think you are nuts.
Wishing you well on your journey.
God Bless

I too have this pain and have been tested for a lot of things with no conclusive diagnose, but I have it most of the time, I too have IBS, what seemed to help me alot with this is miralax, I use it regulary and I do have less pain in this spot now.
My belief is everything is so close together down there that when one thing is hurting ,spasaming or just about doing anything it can cuase us pain all over.
Good luck MG

Your symptoms sound so close to mine. When my IC (i think that's what that feeling is lol) is flaring up is when it seems my IBS starts. Then I get the pain in my right side that feels like my ovary is twisting around, and hurts through to my back, almost like I have a pinch in my right back hip bone. I am hopefully going to start my elmiron again really soon if this insurance thing goes through, but I too find comfort and relief in heat and laying down. The only bad thing is I've found myself very sedintary over the last week, which means no house work is getting done! But I"m just trying to stay comfortable at this point and keep hoping it's not something horribly wrong with that ovary. I hope not because I have had a lot of imaging done of it over the last year and it all turned out okay. Anyhow, thanks for sharing your symptoms because it seems tohelp me make sense of mine. I think it's all coming from the mix of fibromyalgia / ic and IBs :( one day they will find something that works 100% I'm sure! We just need to keep up positive vibes. Is there a research team for developmental cures and drugs like there are for certain types of cancers? If not I would love to rally to start one because I have found too many doctors that don't believe in this, but my urologist says that it is a very real condition that should not go undiagnosed or untreated because it makes people so miserable! Enjoy your days :)

I used to use metamucil too, but I now know it sends my bladder pain IC off the charts, I even tried just pysilium powder which is what metamucil mostly is, but it dosen't have the sugar or flavoring, but it bothered me too. I find the miralax the esiest on my stomach for IBS and IC.
I didn't mention that I also get frequent ovarian cycst, not a bad kind for the most part they grow, cause pain rupture and go away, sometimes they get big enough that I have to have a minor op to clean up the blood and fluid etc from them after they burst, but I am told if I can put up with them for a few more years I will go into menopause and shouldn't be a problem after that. I have had many ultrasounds for these and most of time, I have a cyst in some size or shape in one or both overies, most do not cause me much of a problem so when this side pain get bad I ussally put it down to being a cyst.
Just one more thing for us to deal with. but once again cyst, IC, IBS low back pain it is all in the same sort of area so I think one thing can macke other areas hurt too.
My you have a bright day MG

It could be referred from another part of your body. Have you been tested for food allergies? I developed Celiac Disease Over Night when I was 30. My Mom developed it when she was 52. It's a wheat/gluten allergy. So it just goes to show you can be any age for an allergy to start right out of the blue.
I wish you luck in your quest for finding out what is wrong and how to get some pain relief.

I just got this same exact pain on my right side. It's a dull ache. Had the hydro about a week and a half ago, so some stuff feels better. This disease is crazy! I don't know if I'm coming or going. Frequency is getting better? Sheesh! I give. Now what?!
