Hi I am new to this site so please bear with me if I have posted in the wrong place. I have a question regarding IC for which I was hoping for some input from others with IC.
Recently diagnosed with IC I have had at least three flare ups to date or one very long one with a few days of ok in between. . . . really not sure which.
Currently it seems I have gotten the pain under control but am still having a very large issue with the feeling of a full bladder. My bladder feels full 24/7 even after I void which when I do is very slow and deliberate . . . .does not seem to want to happen naturally. I have to really think and work at it and then only a little comes out when I finally do go pee. Has anyone had this problem persist for weeks at a time and if so what have you done to help it?
I would appreciate anyone’s input who has gone through a similar situation as I am becoming very frustrated and depressed as I cannot sleep or take part in my normal activities.
Thanks

Hi -what meds are you on? Are you on DH Aloe or Cystoprotek? Are you on the IC diet?

I have eliminated certain foods/drink such tomatoes, juice mostly I just drink water and milk and for food nothing spicy. And I have given up white wine which I always enjoyed a glass of from time to time. For meds I am taking an anti-inflammtory, naproxen and an antidresspant forget the name at the moment as well as Elmiron.

If the anti-inflamatory is ibuprofen, that could be a problem. I know I can't take it.

Also, be sure you are getting an adequate amount of water. Have you looked at the IC diet in our Patient Handbook? There are many foods that can be a problem.

Yes, I do have that from time to time. Have you ever been checked for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction? I know when my bladder is spasming really bad, this is one of the symptoms that can arise. And it really sucks! Vaginal Valuim suppositories have been a godsend for me.
