:confused:Well, I finally had my second visit with my urologist. She's pretty convinced that I have IC with secondary PFD(she said she could feel wall hardening on my left side which really hurts.) and doesn't feel there's a need for a cystoscopy or cystoscopy with hydro/distension as she's pretty sure it'll just make me flare more. She said the hydrodistension only seems to help those whose main symptoms are urgency and frequency. I do have that but my main symptom is pain and bladder fullness. Does this make sense to you all? She's starting me on atarax first to see how I do with that and also starting pelvic floor therapy and then I'm supposed to go back in 2 months.I hope the atarax stops the pain as my other meds only give me minor relief. She's also backing off on any more instillations for now since the heparin didn't give me any relief on this last one. if the atarax doesn't work, she suggested DMSO instillations next. She wanted to hold off on the elmiron since as she said it is similar to the heparin and if that didn't help better to try some other things. Any thoughts on this from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Hugs! It does make sense, I have heard others say that their biggest problem was the pain. I think more and more uros are trying to get away from cysto/hydro for diagnosing IC. Ruling out other problems is starting to be the most popular method. Have you tried a TENS unit? This help me a good bit with my pain. I hope you can find something that work, just don't give up!!

thanks for the hugs Maylies Momma.
No I haven't tried the TENS unit yet but will be sure to bring it up at my next meeting if still no relief in sight. It's so hard to concentrate with this illness and I know if I could get the pain under control, I could function better.

On a side note, when I came home from my appointment and told my BF the latest, he seemed really upset/angry/annoyed. I know this is frustrating for him and wish there was some way to help him with this. (He still thinks that if I believe it'll go away, it will). He went off to the golf course which I'm glad he did as it does help him calm down. I almost feel like not telling him whats going on but that doesn't make sense either. He really is supportive but it seems like it's just too much information overload for him. Any thoughts?
