I have had vaginal pain out of the blue now for almost 3-weeks and it is getting dire! I saw my OBGYN, twice...
She looked for yeast and BV clue cells under the microscope and saw nothing. I started Flagyl for BV just in case. Gave me cortisone cream which has done nothing and lidocaine which sometimes helps and sometimes doesn't but when it does, it wears off within an hour! She also tested for Chlamydia which was negative, thank god since I am married, but didn't test for any other STDs.
I saw another Gynocologist today who specializes in IC, Vulvodyina etc. She seems to feel I have Vulvodynia, but I am wondering what other things should be tested for before coming to that conclusion?!?
I also have a lot of stringy, yellow gross discharge (sorry).
This is not normal for me to have down there.

Anyway, I know there is nothing anybody can say that will take away the PAIN, which is what I need, but I am just barely coping emotionally and have two kids to care for and my husband is away.

The pain is ALL in the area of the hymen/perineum inside the folds of skin behind the perineum, just a constant ache that no matter what i do I can NOT get rid of. I hate my life so much right now, is there anything that can help me or am I forever doomed to live with this, like the IC?:help:

I am so sorry to hear that you feel like this. I know it is no fun! I have or had felt like that for 2+ yrs off and on. It does sound like Vulvodynia. It is really hard to treat, a lot of drs don't know how to, so they guess. What I have found that works for mine. When I say works for me, it means I haven't had much pain in about 7 months. I went on a no sugar diet. I did this for about 6 weeks. It was rough, I also do a strong probiotic twice a day, I did one vaginally (Florajen). I used what pharmacist's call Magic Butt Cream. I was also put on some other supplements as well. I got all of these from a compounding pharmacist. I live near Louisville Ky...but if you know of any Compound Pharmacy's look them up and see if they know anything about V...if not I could maybe give you the number of mine, and she could talk to you over the phone. At least be able to tell you what you might want to start. I know do not put sugar into my diet, it isn't easy, but worth it. I sweeten things now with honey, so I have some perks with things. I just don't want that constant pain for myself or anyone else. It is hard to even function I understand. Please let me know if you need anything else.

It does sound like you could have Vulvodynia. Pernium issues are also sometimes a sign of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. Until I was properly treated, I always knew about V and thought V caused all my issues. But it turns out even though I do have V...my PFD was much more severe. I never even heard of PFD until I came to this site.

If I were you, I would NOT try putting anything foreign in you to treat infections if you are testing negative---yeast infection creams, other creams, yoguart etc. If u don't actually have the infection, if could make your V flare worse. I have made that mistake many a time before getting diagnosed.

I would try sitting on either ice or heat until you can get some help.

I was in 10 pain for 3 months straight until they put me on Elavil which gave me relief with in a week of starting it.

I know it's hard, just keep fighting. If one doctor can't help you, just keep going to the next.

Did the doctor you saw offer you Elavil or Lyrica or anything to try?? You would think if she was in the know she should have given you something.
