Has anyone here had their urethra cut open? If so, did it hold or did you have to have it cut open again. I'm just curious. Please respond.

You mean as a release in a tight or strictured spot as opposed to an open wound? I had a cysto/hydrodistention in 4/00 in which the uro not only burned off some Hunner's ulcers but also removed some polyp like tissue from the prostatic urethra w/ a sort of incision. I think that sort of released the spot of contracture. It helped urinary flow, but aggravated my chronic urethritis a bit too.

I never had my urethra cut but recently had to get my urethra out due to the IC spreading to the urethra. I used to have spasms and always had to be dilated years back due to the urethra stenosis. I hope you can get some relief soon. Good luck and sorry that I couldn't specifically answer your question.
