I was basically just diagnosed with vulvodynia from my current gyno. He mentioned something about a low-oxolate diet.

I know I have posted some tips on here about treating sensitve vulvar skin.

Can anyone add to these tips/give me more advice?

My gyno did not seem inclined to give me creams/ointments or lidocaine. He said that this only masks the pain and does not help.

He also said that I needed to continue with my P/T for my PFD.

Any advice would be welcome!

Please and thank you!

No Lidocaine is he serious? I would die if I did not have that when I am flaring!!
Tell him you are in pain and you need something to help.. and yes Lidocaine does help..

I am going to give you some links also that you might find helpful:

Yes, he was serious! I could not even get any for after sexual intercourse.

Also, he said that the Nuva Ring may be contributing to my condition. I read that if you have easily irritated vaginas, you should not use Nuva Ring, which I only found out after I started using it. So I am starting to use the pill form. Tricelic or something?

Oh, he also said that my vaginal skin just might be really irritated due to a yeast infection TWO WEEKS ago and/or that I may be allergic to my husbands sperm.

The itching is maddening!!!

Thanks for the link!

P.S. Taking vicodin helps for a short while but I do not like taking it unless I ABSOLUTELY have to.

And find a doctor who knows about Vulvodynia. After 5 years because my mother gave up hope she found Dr Dreisbach MD. OB/GYN. And it was her who gave my mother a list of treatments for Vulvo and a doctors appointment with a doctor who deals with Vulvodynia. Or pelvic floor infections, whatever you wanna call it. You have to keep seeing doctors until you find the right one. :bonk: I know its hard. My mothers 79 now...

You take care and don't give up. :)

Thank goodness you're stopping the Nuva ring...that seems like a terrible idea to use for anyone with any type of vaginal issue.

My magic bullet for my Vulvodynia has really been Elavil but everyone is different.

It seems strange to me that this doctor would deny you lidocane...even back when no one believed me that I was in pain, people would just throw it at me b/c it's harmless.

I am definitely glad I have it to pull out every now and then. I would go to a specialist to work out the best plan for you. It is good that this Gyno believes in your pain, but they don't seem very education on all the treatments.
