So I'm planning to make salmon tonight for dinner. I usually dip it in honey and pan-fry it in olive oil. I also put some oil oil in a pan, crush up some garlic and cook up some spinach. I see all of these foods are on the safe list for IC. Does anyone have a problem w/these foods. What about Rice-A-Roni? Is that ok to eat or should I avoid it?

The salmon, olive oil, garlic, and spinach should be fine. Some IC patients have trouble with garlic, but not many. The spinach can be a problem if you have vulvodynia (it's high in oxalates), but for IC it's usually ok.

Rice-A-Roni has a lot of additives, & I think it might have onion powder in it. I'd stay away from it until you know your diet triggers better.

Bon appetit!

I had never thought to use honey with salmon but it sounds really good! :)
Baked salmon and steamed spinach one of my fav meals! The two go great together. For a carb, I like to use cous cous with this meal(cooked in chxn broth and dressed up with fresh herbs and minced fresh veggies), or brown rice...maybe you could do that instead of rice a roni?

The chicken dipped in honey and then pan-fryed is super good. I got the idea from one of the cooks on the FoodNetwork. I think it was Rachel Ray. It's so yummy. She actually added some chili powder to it and a squeeze of lime which I tried before I started having symptoms and it was so good. I may squeeze just a tad of lime in the honey tonight, but I think I will stay away from the chili powder for now. :) I hope you try it and like it!
