My wife has had IC for 4 years now and she has tried just about every treatment known with no success. Her uro told her about hyperbaric treatments and how he has had some success with them. It is a oxygen chamber under pressure that supplies cells with additional oxygen. This it turn helps with repair of damaged cells and promotes cell growth. She hasn't tried it yet because the insurance company will not pay for it. Each treatment cost $165 and she will need between 40-60 treatments. I am appealing the insurance's co decision not to cover it. If not we are going to have some fund raisers to get the money together. It is a safe treatment for ICers, no chemicals other then oxygen. We will let everyone know how it goes...
