Hi.I had my first cystoscopy on Monday april 12,and was also diagnosed with having IC(not a severe case though)I am still feeling horrible and having kinda a hard time getting urine to come out still--not all the time but i sometimes even get "broken glass"feeling in my bladder for no reason at all.When will this go away?could this of possibly made my IC worsen?:(

I'm sorry you are still in pain. I can't tell you when the pain will stop although I wish I could. Some of us have pain for quite some time after the cysto/hydro... first, you need to make sure you do not have an infection. Even if you don't it might take some time to feel better. Be good to yourself. Rest as much as possible, and if it hurts, please ask for some meds for pain control...

I, too, would get checked for infection.

IC shouldn't cause any problems with conception. The only thing I can think of is if intercourse causes a lot of pain for you ---- and then you don't have it often. ;)

So here it goes--I had my cysto/hydo done on april 12.I had a hard time urinating at first i had to really push it out--now thats gotta better and I am able to go normally just about..but my back pain is HORRIBLEEEEEEE and the frequency is still the same.I also feel the pain in my hips it feels like.I called the nurse and she hasnt called me back..whats up with that?:mad:
I am suppose to go in to get my 2 week check up so he can put me on medication...its like does he even care?his nurse didnt even have the decency to call me back geez oh petes.I am now fighting a horrible head cold and allergies and my wisdom tooth busted a day after my surgery...can i catch a break??Sorry needed to vent.I am 25 and feel 80 sometimes..the bladder pain isnt as bad as the body aches is this normal?:kiss:

Please telephone your doctor's office today. And tell them you need to be seen because you have pain and are having difficulty urinating. You may have infection and it shouldn't wait for an appointment down the line.

Your back and hip pain could be partially from positioning for the procedure, but you do need to be checked.

You should never strain to urinate --- it just makes it worse.

I had horrible body aches and soreness the day after my cysto/hydro -- I was told it was from the anesthesia. However, I think you should be checked if you are still this sore 7 days after your procedure. Donna is right!

I agree with Jen that Donna is right. I would definately go to the doctor. If a uro can't see you today maybe you can see a primary care doc or go to the ER.

I'm 25 myself and I have always put off going to the dr because I feel at this age I should be fine... It took me about 6 months to go to a urologist after my PCP referred me to one. I figured how severe a problem could frequent urination be? No it's much worse and I will run to the dr if I stub my toe!

Im sorry that you are in so much pain.I know how frustrating it is waiting for the dr to call you back. I also have a problem with retention and terrible back pain and now a new symptom...hip pain
Keep on calling your drs office if they didnt get back to you yet.

hi ,

I know that feeling well , i have been taught to self catheterize to empty my bladder it is uncomfortable but it helps , ask see if they can help . good luck at the docs .
