jen, I noticed you are from memphis I didn't know there was another ic patient within 500 miles from here, My husband was diagnosed with IC about 5 years ago, he found a very wonderful compasionate female doctor at the ut med in germantown who found the ic and diagnosed it (after about five years of cronic kindney stones and utis) she is one of the only dr's in this part of the country that SPECIALIZES in IC, she is also a pain managment doctor, she does do trigger point thearpy and it seems to help relive his pain for a bit he is able to be productive. you might be interested you might not, all I can tell you is she is a very good doctor and she will help people in need! if you would like I can put you in touch..good luck with your treatment I hope you find somthing to relive yourself!

Yep, there are a few of us from Memphis on here! I have met a few people on the boards from this area. Nice to see you (and your husband) joining us!

You're right, there are VERY few doctors knowledgeable about IC around here. You must be referring to Dr. Ragi Wiygul at UT Medical group... I have heard she is excellent, but I've never seen her personally. I'm so glad your husband has gone there and found some relief... IC is a real challenge to treat and it is so important to find someone who knows what he/she is doing.

I see Dr. Yair Walzer here. He's also very, very good. He is the other IC expert here in Memphis -- he is on the Interstitial Cystitis Association's list of IC docs for Tennessee (one of only 2 or 3 in the Memphis area). My husband found him for me before we even knew he was the "other" IC specialist in the area, and so far it is working out great for me. :)

you are exactly right Dr wygul is an angel sent fro heaven! she helped my husband when nobdy else in the world would! ! she has written a book on ic and even has set up a foundation for ic patients that don't have insurance or can't afford their meds! she is great! there is no reason an ic patient should suffer if they live anywhere remotly close to memphis!

Hello from the other end of Tennessee! I also see a doctor in the UT Medical group but mine is in Knoxville. I suffered with IC for years before finding her through this website and finally getting an official diagnois. It is so good to hear we are finding more Uros who specialize in IC.
