elmiron when do you start to see hair loss?

Hello! I have been on Elmiron three weeks now. I am supposed to take 3x daily but I usually take twice on empty stomach with loads of water... I am not seeing any effect - though I understand it could be 6 months. But what about the side effects like hair loss. How long did it take for you to notice that happening. I am very worried about that though my doctor says they have never seen patient with hair loss. Thanks!

Only a very small percentage experience hair loss with elmiron. I suggest you start with a clean hairbrush and brush your hair, then clean the hair from the brush and store it in a plastic sandwich bag. Then if you feel you might be experiencing hair loss, you can do the brush test again and compare with the stored hair.

Im just now starting my third month of Elmiron. I waited a long time to take it because I was afraid it would make my hair fall out. I was really scared when my doctor told me she wanted me to take 200 mg twice a day. So far it hasnt made me lose any hair. Im not sure if its helping or not because Ive also been doing physical therapy but something is definatly helping. So far the only side effect Ive noticed is I bruise a little eaiser. I hope you have good luck with it :)

I've been on it for two years, taking 400 Mg. a day, and have had no hair loss at all, which is good - I lost about a third of my hair to thyroid problems. My hair wasn't that thick to begin with!!
Very few patients experience hair loss, so no worries, ok?

I've been taking it for the better of the last 5 years I ahven't had any noticeable hair loss. Like Donna said it only happen to a small % of patients. Hopefully it won't happen to you. I hope the elmiron helps your bladder.

I think my doctor said if you have hair loss, it will usually occur within the first six weeks. I haven't had any hair loss so far, and it's been 9 weeks. I don't have any symptoms from Elmiron at all.

The information about Elmiron that the Dr.gave me when I first started on it says in as little as 4 weeks hair loss could start. Not usually a thinning of the hair but hair loss in one spot.
I was on Elmiron for 4 months last year and had to come off it due to another problem I was having. I have been taking it again since late April and have had no hair loss and really good relief from pain and urgency.I am still getting up 2 to 3 times a night to pee but all else is good.
