Retention due to OTC meds.

I have severe retention due to an overactive neurogenic type bladder. Just wondering if anyone knows if Nyquil would cause retention. I took it for 2 nights and my bladder was paralyzed. Yesterday I also took a Zyrtec (?) for sinus congestion. I just don't know what caused this feeling. It's so draining and depressing though. Thanks for any help!!

I think Nyquil has alcohol in it......a no no for most IC'ers

I think it would be a good idea to discuss this with your doctor. I know I can't take Nyquil --- it does strange things to my head.

I can't use Acetaminophen, the main ingredient of Nyquil.
