Hi, I wanted to share how I was able to get my Elmiron free for a year. I don't have heath insurance and as you probably know Elmiron is very expensive.

Go to this website:
http://www.access2wellness.com/a2w/index.html

Go to patients and there is an eligibility tool to see if you may be eligible. You need to make under about $20,000 a year and have no prescription coverage (or at least no coverage for the medication you're applying for). If you don't meet these qualifications they will give you other suggestions that may be able to help.

If you qualify for the free medication, don't submit the form online - I submitted mine online and they don't even look at it. You have to print out the form, fill it out and take it to your doctor for them to fill out their part and fax or mail the form. If you qualify you'll get a prescription card to take to your pharmacy (give it to them before having your prescription filled) and you'll have a $0 copay for a 30 day supply for a year. You can reapply after a year.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. I also work at a pharmacy so if you have any trouble with the pharmacy end I may be able to help you out too.

Good luck!

I still haven't been diagnosed but as I've said many times, I suspect I have IC. I actually have my first urologist appointment tomorrow.
I am gonna bookmark that link because I have no nsurance whatsoever. THANKS!

Thank you so much for posting this, I'm going to try this right now! I don't have coverage for prescriptions and elmiron is wayyy too expensive for me to try w/out help. I thought I'd be able to do without it, but after 8 months of trying every thing I can afford with no success at all, I would really really like to start the elmiron.

They told me I make too much to qualify ($14K a year). Really? I sent in an appeal anyway but I still haven't heard back. I think it's because I have private insurance and they 'pay' for prescriptions (instead of $600 I get to pay $500 -- thanks a lot!).

But I hope it works for at least some of you!

Yeah, you have to have no prescription coverage. I thought you could make up to $20,000 a year to qualify though, so I don't think it's your income, I don't know why they'd say that. I know it sucks though that even though your meds are still ridiculously expensive, you can't get help.
