Hi there,

I have been reading this Board with interest and wonder if those of you who have found Cyclosporine effective have also tested positive for non-specific ANAs?

Mine are a low positive at 160 which makes me think there is some immune system involvement in my IC/PBS, and the other weird thing is that my symptoms either improve or go into remission when I have a virus.

Does anyone go into remission when they have a virus?

Regards
Shelley

Yes, my symptoms go into remission when I have a virus. Whenever I get a cold. I was thinking about seeing an infectious disease Dr.

Hmmm...I don't have non-specific elevated ANA- my ANA's are elevated at times because I have Lupus (SLE)- I don't take IC meds & thank the lord above my IC is 90 percent or more better than before...but now that you mention it, I remember now that when I was sick at times my bladder felt better...I thought maybe it was just my mind was off it. I know my white blood counts are normal even when I am sick, presumably because of the Lupus.

I was diagnosed with Lupus/sjogren's about 7 years ago and IC about 4 years ago. I am currently on Elmiron and atarax and I also take Tagment at night before bed. All of these things over time have seemed to help me alot. My lupus is giving me fits for the last 6 or seven months and my Rheumy wants me to start cyclosporine, 25mg 2 times per day to start out with. I was thinking wouldn't it be great if I found something that helped with the lupus and IC, but it looks like to me it has been several years since anyone has posted about using cyclosporine for their IC. Is there anyone who is still using or just starting this med for there IC?

Take Care

I also have a positive ANA. I don't remember how my bladder feels when I have a virus. I'll keep that in mind next time.
