I had my cysto a couple of days ago - gyno told me it was all clear in terms of polyps. The follow-up appointment was scheduled for 2 weeks later. I suspect there was no hydro done with the cysto (it was never mentioned) so I don't know if he was even looking for signs of IC. I have been in a lot of pain since - the voltaren prescribed for me doesn't even touch it. And while it's great there are no polyps, I still have no idea what's causing all my bladder pain. And now I have to wait 2 weeks to find out what it could be? This is so frustrating - it's been going on for almost 3 months now and I just want to find out what it is and try and get better. I'm pretty sure my gyno thinks this will go away of it's own accord - I wish I had his faith.

If you had the cysto in the doctor's office without anesthesia, it would have been just having a look at your bladder. If you were in the hospital and put to sleep, than it's possible, but you need to ask your doctor. Are you seeing a urologist for your bladder pain?

I suggest you telephone the office and let them know you are in pain and ask if you can be seen sooner.

When you call your doctor, if there aren't any appointments available until the one you are scheduled for, ask to be put on the list to take the next canceled appointment.

Thanks for your replies. I now have an appointment for next Tuesday thank goodness. The cysto was done under general - I guess I'll find out if there was a hydro when I see the gyno. I'm wondering if I should ask to be referred to a urologist - but I don't think my gyno will like that. The only reason I'm seeing him in the first place is because he took out an ovarian cyst a few years ago.
