Has anyone had a flare from swimming in salt water? We are going on vacation soon, & I would love to take a swim. I would have to sit in my wet suit after till it dries. And also, how about pools? Thanks for any info, Karen

P.S. Yes, I am actually well enough this summer to take a vacation. :woohoo:

Our Oregon coast water is too cold to swim in, but I did dip in the ocean in Hawaii with no problem. Hopefully you can find a place to urinate after swimming --- if no restrooms, you might try using a Travel John. I recommend trying it out at home first.

I'm heading over your way (PA) soon and no east coast trip is complete without a few days at the Jersey shore! Anyway, the salt water has never bothered my IC. I don't spend much time in pools, so will leave that for others to address.

Have fun on your vacation!

I am ok with salt water. :)
Not ok with pools and hot tubs....chlorinated pools don't bother my IC but do bother my VV, so I avoid.
Glad you are feeling well enough to vacation!
If you wear a loose skirt or a beach cover up over your swimsuit, along with a large beach towel that is usually enough to make getting out of your wet bottoms and into something dry do-able;)... if sitting around in wet suit is an issue!
Hope you have a really nice time. You deserve it!:smile tee

Donna, Thanks for the info, I will have access to a restroom, so I am ok in that department.

Vicki, Thanks, & if you need to make a pit stop near Philly, let me know. Send me a pm if I can give you any sightseeing tips or help you out in any way.

Bri, Thank you, I never thought of the skirt idea. And thanks for the kind words. It helps to know that others have been in the ocean with no problem.

One great thing about swimsuits this year is that there are many two-piece ones --- so a change can be made and you could still be in a swimsuit.

Donna, It's so funny you said that because I bought a new suit with separate bottoms to make it easy to run to the restroom, but I never thought to buy an extra pair of matching bottoms. What a great idea!
